Thanks, Angie. The seller said it was a scratch that didn't go below the surface, but the close-ups make it look more serious.

OH. There is no way I'd buy a damaged bag like that. I vote pass.

I did a big handbag edit last year so can top up no problem.

Hah, Angie. But with your one-in, one-out policy, what would you sacrifice?

That was a good idea, LBD. I asked for more photos, and the seller provided these close-ups.

I'm with Shevia. If I buy something pristine, I'm terrified to use it or wear it. If I buy something that is gently used, I'm fearless about wearing it or carrying it everywhere.

As far as the bag goes, for my part, I would request more pictures of that scratch, from different angles, and ask. If it's just a scratch, you can probably work with it. But the bottom part, towards the center of the bag, looks like it might be a crack, in which case I'd say, either walk away, or negotiate them down to a price that makes that scratch something you can live with. :D

If it's only a surface scratch, for me, it would depend on the price, and whether I thought I could make it work.

Hmm, one reason I like second hand bags is they are already a bit scratched and I don't have to worry about ruining them - not a majority viewpoint I admit.

KILLER GORGEOUS.

And I think that white bag should be mine, if you can get rid of the scratch.

I have many white bags. Not impractical at all.

I have that white bag, minus the scratch. I'm very happy with it. However, I'm not sure how I would feel about that scratch. Once I start using a bag and loving it though, I mostly ignore scratches and wear unless it effects function. Bags are going to wear no matter what, and I
Ike to use and enjoy what I have otherwise there is no point to them in the first place.

It seems to be a deep cut, and I'm not sure buffing would get rid of it.

Ferragamo bags are gorgeous. That scratch wouldn't bother me. A little shoe polish on a tiny brush and it's gone. Especially on white, it would just disappear.

Right? It draws the eye! I wish it didn't bother me, but the rationalization process isn't going well.

The white Bag is lovely but that scratch would bother me every time I carried it. And even when it was sitting at home! It doesn't matter that it may be less expensive, that would be a deal breaker for me.

Thanks for chiming in. I'm considering two versions of the moment in pebbles black, and the laser-cut white. I admit that my preference is for the black, but the white bag is significantly cheaper, due to the scratch on the back. I'm worried that it would get dirty quickly with daily use, and am glad to here that hasn't been the case with your bag.

For those who own a Ferragamo bag, can you comment on the quality and durability? Do they hold up nicely? Do the darker colours stain your light coloured clothing? Do they scuff, tear or break easily? What have been your experiences?
