I've also noticed that many J. Crew shoes have stiff soles, which I don't care for as a rule.&nbsp;</p> <p>Nodding along with you about Zara, too. Topshop is similar. And yet, and yet....every now and again both those brands will make something that is stellar, or that, if it is stiff, is not stiff in a bad way (if that makes sense, i.e. it just fits really well.) I got two pairs of Topshop shoes this summer and loved both. I have a pair of Zara booties going into their fourth season -- off at the cobbler's for new heels as I type. No, all of their shoes are not this stiff - although clearly there are those of us whose feet don't like this brand. I suspect it is the fabrication that makes this particular show so difficult, which saddens me because it is on my wish list. The suede is probably softer and more malleable. </p> <p>I've had good luck with other JCrew shoes, and I just tried on some JCrew Factory suede Dorsay flats (did not buy) that were soft like butter. If it's any consolation, that's how I've ended up with a lot of higher-priced shoes. I've found some brands that work really well for my feet, and I keep going back to them. I'll try on similar or even more desirable styles in other brands, and I can tell they are going to be uncomfortable. <br />I imagine leather would give more than fabric, though, so that might be an option in this shoe.
