I was just thinking the other day whether you could wear your orange Vince blouse under the orange moto. You bought the Vince blouse at Marios a few years ago at a YLF meet up.

I guess I should also add that last year's NAS purchases didn't really turn out to be workhorses. The Sam Edelman python ankle boots I have worn so little that you can still see the finish on the soles. I have trouble with my orange perforated moto. Other stuff I bought, I just returned eventually.

Do you feel all set for Fall? No refreshers needed? I like Angie's idea about a closet review . Maybe one or two things to keep it lively.

But I'm a fashion addict.

I vote closet review - do a few hours a day - one wardrobe capsule at a time. That's the answer going forward.

You've received some great advice here Anna - especially Deborah's.

I think you have an amazing wardrobe and IMHO, you have pared back your shopping quite a bit this year and are wearing your beautiful items more. I see this as a real positive. Having so many things in your closet that you can't possibly wear everything and even forget you have it, doesn't make sense. And in fact, it's a waste of money.

Anna - you have an amazing closet filled with lovely pieces. You also redisover some amazing pieces in there from time to time.

Do you absolutely love the Nordstrom piece? If so, keep it, if not return it.

As for the Totokaelo pieces, hold them up to the same standard as the Nordies piece. Yes, you can only return for in store credit, but you shop there often. You can use the credit this fall or winter for pieces that you are in love with.

As for NAS, I would peruse it online. If there is a piece there you adore, go for it. But if nothing grabs you as spactacular, pass. I say do this online as there is less temptation and it is easier to focus on your needs rather than wants, especially when pretty things are just right there!

Seeing how great you've been this past season, being super picky and not drawn to that much, I think you can safely skip the sale. If anything, a peek in for extra cute hiking clothes, but that's probably the only thing I might do given what you've said about your upcoming activities.

This is the big one we all need to answer for ourselves imo. The only thing I can say is since I've stopped buying things just because they were on sale or because I felt I wanted "something" I feel a lot better about my clothes & I've made real progress with refining my wardrobe. Sit on it for a couple of days - I'm sure you know the answer :)

Anna, hows this for being completely selfish... save for your trip to Australia.. we can have a mini meet up :)

Seriously though, I do think we have to consider just how much clothing we can reasonabily wear. I wonder if we think we are "missing out" when in fact, something just as fantastic will come along when we actually need to add to our closet. Buying for the sake of buying has lost it's hold on me since joining YLF.

You've really been super restrained compared to other times in your shopping. And everybody need some retail therapy once in a while. How long do you have to make absolute decisions about the Totokaelo stuff? Maybe you can sneak some time in your closet to try on combinations and see if it is really workable with the fall wardrobe. Not sure what to advise on NAS -- maybe it will depend on the offerings.

anna, this spring/summer has been so insightful for you so cut yourself some slack.

i think you'll wear the totokaelo stuff for quite a while, if you can remember you bought them. i would really really really skip nas if i were you. how are you with the marshmallow experiment (if you wait 20 min, i'll give you another mallow)? i would just take myself out of any situations where jet-puffs were lurking.

So when I had a random day off recently I did some retail therapy, which I did not need. I going to be on call more to cover for a pregnant coworker, I'm hiking with the boy. It's going to be like this till September. The call situation may go on longer. So my actual need for clothes is going down. I can return the Isabel Marant boho dress because it was from Nordstrom. I'm going to return the NARS make-up, mostly because I just don't see myself using it.
I did buy a floral bomber, a patterned mint blouse, black perforated heeled ankle boots and tan suede ankle boots from the Totokaelo sale. Because they were on sale, I can only return them for store credit. Luckily, I think the items I bought I think will work in the fall too.
But the big question is NAS. The sales person I bought the Isabel Marant dress said there would be some stuff I like. But I don't know if I need anything. I seriously need a major closet purge, but I don't even have time for that. I also want to save for a trip to Australia early next year.
