And the linen top as well. It's a good sign that I actually wished it had been warmer yesterday -- I would have worn that top for my getting-vaccinated outfit. </p> <p>While I was out for my vaccine, I took a trip to a Nordstrom to return the chambray shirt and a couple other items that didn't work for me. I may try the chambray in a smaller size, but it wasn't available in that store. Weird to see the store so empty and quiet (it was very early too), but the Rack on the ground floor was a bit busier. </p> <p>I did try the Ecco sneakers pictured here, in black, as I have been wanting some new black sneakers (not for winter as my lined Converse high-tops are). I had a great pair of platform ones that I loved the looks of, but they slipped off my heels despite all my best efforts to make them fit better, so they are in my to-sell box. I tried the Converse Shoreline knit sneakers in black, since I have the turquoise ones and love them -- however, somehow the turquoise ones are a perfect fit for me, but the black ones slip off my heels too! I guess it's a newer production run and they are cut just enough differently that the heels are wider. *sadface*&nbsp;</p> <p>The Eccos worked better than I thought they would -- there is a cushioned portion around the heel that seems to keep them from slipping off my feet, and I think they look pretty good on. I tried some Uggs (the Tay sneakers) that felt fantastic but looked a little too much like running shoes for what I wanted. I'm keeping those in mind in case I ever need new heavy-duty city walking shoes.&nbsp;</p> <p>So the Eccos came home with me to try around the house. I agree with Staysfit that the diagonal line in the skirt pattern is quite flattering, too. With the top, you could add a pendant to create a V-line when you want that shape at the neck. I really like the white top with the new skirt; here's hoping the next size down works better. I too have larger thighs and so really understand the issue of horizontal lines in the wrong spot, but this has very slimming diagonal lines and looks fabulous. Crew neck doesn’t look chokey- the softer color I think mitigates any such tendency plus its being such a good face color for you. It fits beautifully and is wonderfully light and breezy. Blue and white is my summer jam, so it would be worn with white or blue tops for a simple casual outfit. But I want to know if the pattern placement brings too much attention to my low hip area. It was the only skirt there, so I had no opportunity to see if another skirt had a different placement, but the stock photo (see Find) seems to indicate that the print varies. Their website does say they have another M in stock, so I could try ordering one to see if the pattern placement is better on me (ETA: maybe not, website orders are final sale only).</p> <p>- (Photos 1-7) The pale blue linen knit sleeveless top is from Veronica Beard, courtesy of Nordstrom Rack. Again, it’s wonderfully light and comfortable, it fits well, and I really like the color. High crew necks are not my absolute best neckline, but I tend to lean so heavily on V-necks that sometimes I get a bit bored with them and want some variety. Is this JFE?</p> <p>I got halfway through the try-on session before I realized I was wearing the wrong bra, so disregard if you see a shadow of black under the top. Knit linen tops are notorious for being thin and see-through but this one doesn’t seem too bad. I had a black one that I donated right away after I saw a photo of myself in it — eek! </p> <p>I’m posting pics of the top with pants and shorts too. Please disregard total lack of makeup or any attention to hair. Yikes.</p> <p>Also, in photos 8-10, the Karen Kane white tie-front top and chambray tie-front top both arrived, and I feel like they’re both too big. Just too much fabric all around. I didn’t notice this so much with the black one, but I’m going to order these in a S to see if they work better. </p> <p>Opinions welcome! </p>
