I tried this a few days ago and I like the way this makes you keep your question succinct. I will be using this again. So far the only limitation I see for the "keep or return" type of thread is that I need to create separate threads for each item which in the long run is more time consuming for readers. At least 50% of the time when I have a keep or return question, I have more than one item.

I love the polls! I also really like that the thread starter gets to choose whether or not to activate the poll.

Definitely good. I like Michelle's idea about polls, but I also think this yes/no feature is great.

I logged out to see what the changes felt like. You obviously can't see the icon that tells you there's a poll, but on a thread with the poll you can see that votes have been cast, so the responses are not too confusing. Is it worth mentioning the polls in the bit where it prompts you to login to reply? The bit that reads something like 'If you are not a member consider signing up. Members can chat in the forum etc'. Is it worth adding 'vote in forum polls' or does that create more clutter?

You've probably considered and discounted this already!

Not overly important Greg, but is there a timescale for changing your vote? Is it 24 hours like the edit function?

Michelle, I think that is definitely worth considering for the future, but in the short term we will probably just add more "canned" polls. The "keep or return" question comes up quite often, for example.

I love the idea and the execution! Great job as always, Greg.
Here's a question I foolishly posted in the comments of your backstage post.
Question: Would user-created polls ever be an option? If a forum member posed a question with more nuanced answers, might there eventually be a way for her to create and post the poll herself?

I really like it -- it is a fast way to see the results of a should-I-shouldn't-I question. That could be really helpful if time is a concern.
