Thanks, all!

Angie, the skirts are some blends (viscose/poly or rayon) and a couple are poly. None are 100% viscose. Hard to say what the fabric quality will be like until I see them in person, so I tried ordering any with prints and cuts that appealed to me.

What a gorgeous blouse on you, Janet! I love the tie-neck detail and randomness of the pattern. And that cashmere beanie is delicious!

Another great blouse, Janet! Fab neckline on you. I like that it's white :)

I'm excited about the skirts. Hope some of them work out. Make sure they are NOT 100% viscose.

Suntiger, yes!

I got this black sleeveless top at Anthro last summer and it is perfect for me with skirts — fitted but with a little texture which hides lumps and bumps. I am worried I will wear it out!

Yay, glad you're trying the Preen! And love the Free People skirt too Hopefully this year retail gives us short fitted sleeveless tops to go with the flowy skirts!

Janet - you made the right decision to try the Preen skirt. Usually, if an item haunts me, I take that as a sign that I need to try it. You'll be comparing everything else to the Preen skirt in your mind until you know one way or the other if it works for you. I hope it does!

Aaaaagh, I finally decided to stop agonizing and just try the darn Preen skirt. I kept thinking of it — if it is not too heavy/warm, fits right and is not clingy on the saddlebags, it could be a real summer workhorse and worth the extra $. I’ve learned that one expensive piece that I LOVE can be better than 2-3 cheaper pieces that I “kinda like.” Bottom line is that I won’t know unless I try it.

Greyscale, I know the exact shirt you are talking about! I bought an Equipment star print sweater (on deep discount) a few years ago and later decided the scale of the stars was overwhelming, so I gave it to a friend. I like that this print is more subtle while not being too sweet or whimsical (whimsical is great, it’s just that I personally don’t feel right in it).

Thanks, all! I will report on skirts after I try them on. Still agonizing over whether to order that Preen skirt as well.

Love the blouse! I have a shirt from Equipment, white with black stars, that I'd like a lot more if the stars were smaller and more scattered like your find.

The first one wasn’t a planned or budget purchase, but I happened upon this white star-print blouse in a local boutique and really liked it, so it came home with me. The fit is very nice, and it’s just casual enough to work with jeans, but would dress up if I need it too. It lies well under a topper and looks good under a vest, too. This works with my goal to add a bit more white to my wardrobe as well.

(ETA: I was also trying on the DL1961 side stripe jeans in the photo, upon urging by the SA — I did not buy those. They were ok but I didn’t love the length and I don’t need more skinnies.)

I also succumbed to lust for this feather-light blue camo print cashmere beanie. I get a ton of wear from my black cashmere beanie/beret, and it’s not easy to find ones that fit nicely and are so lightweight.

I’ve also ordered a few skirts to try, since I’m trying to plan ahead for spring/summer. Floaty, lightweight casual printed skirts (with black in the print to pair with my black tanks and tees) have worked so well for me that my old skirts are looking worse for the wear.

My four-item limit for February might be shot if a couple of skirts work, but I’m ok with that if I find great things before the actual wearing season.
