Angie - yes, I remember, I read your blog post, but not sure if we are looking for the same green? I don’t mind pinks and reds in different shades, but for green I only really like this one type of green, not even sure how to call it, is it avocado, or kiwi or lime? Green with lot of yellow I think.

Yes it does. I only have 2 winter skirts that fit now since the black tulle one has become too big in the waist. So I shouldn’t buy more at this time because of that.

Jenni NZ - does it mean that you also don’t wear skirts in winter? I don’t mind tights if they are big enough, so I usually buy them in 1-2 sizes bigger.

Anchie thank you for your thoughts on my dresses. I’m forcing myself because I hate seeing them go unworn and they are nice. With the winter ones, I need to not buy more because I have realised I hate tights, they’re not comfortable. I last bought a winter one in 2018 so they are all older than that. I do wear occasionally for events. In summer, I wear more happily just with sandals and have already worn 2 dresses in March.

Angie - yes, interesting that we wear the same colors while our coloring is so different. I was never good at analyzing what colors look good on me, and I just wear colors that speak to me and make me happy. My word and color for the year are CHANGE and LIME GREEN, and I am embracing them

Another who enjoyed your analysis, anchie :)

It makes perfect sense for you!

HIGH FIVE - we enjoy wearing the same neutrals and non-neutrals. Interesting because our complexions are very different! When it works - it works! Please carry on.

With respect to patterns, I believe you either feel them or you don't. FOLLOW THOSE FEELINGS. Personally, I go through stages when I crave patterns, and when I crave solids. I tend to stick to patterns I do not tire of. The classics. I am quite set in my ways with pattern (and jewellery and shoes for that matter). Maybe you are too. Go with what you want to wear!

Vigorously nodding along with your preference for long coats, and light shoes. Both = very addictive!

Navy pants are great with LIGHT shoes, brights, and whites. Try that. I love mine :)

As for silhouettes, you are wearing a dress as a tunic in another post - so there you go! New look, and it's fab!

Have to force myself to put them on even though I like them.

Jenni NZ - wears add up slowly, I know. I am happy if I manage to wear something at least 5-6 times in a year, that is why I try to wear everything each month. How many dresses you have?

I don’t think you need to add more patterns just because people mentioned it? It’s probably just that you talked about it and they picked up on that. And you’ve now told us you wear more prints in summer.
In your latest pants post you do have that lovely printed shirt with the blue and orange in.
BTW my total wardrobe number clothes and shoes is almost exactly the same as yours- about 146 for all seasons. Too many of mine are standalone I think like dresses. I wore 2 lesser worn items the last 2 days but it still only adds one wear each to little worn things… feels so slow.

Please don’t get me wrong, I appreciate all your feedback, but I am curious why majority of you concentrated on patterns? Adding patterns was not really an area where I felt the need to improve, but it seems I need to reconsider? I was even planning to reduce patterns even more, I am little over side stripe and plaid pants and they seemed like good candidates for out when I get some new pants.
Regarding experimenting with new silhouettes, I was thinking of updating my pants and jeans to some more current shapes like full length wide leg, maybe cargos, joggers or parachute, even considering pleated pants. Not planning to replace all, of course, but few interesting pairs for spring and summer should be enough. And then I would see if they also need some more updated support pieces, maybe shorter jackets?

It was really interesting to see your outfits this month and also to read this report. It's very thoughtful and insightful and it seems the challenge prompted some valuable discoveries.

My own discovery was that much as I signed on for the challenge, I was incapable of joining in, LOL. Sorry about that! I was doing another challenge (in another area of life) simultaneously and it proved more than I could manage.

Prints can be difficult, but they can indeed add interest. So can varied textures, if you prefer colour blocking.

My question is the same as Jaime's. I wonder how you will experiment without moving too far from what you like best?

Regarding prints, maybe start slowly with one really great one oy really love? I realized something similar regarding accessories - I do change my shoes often, and several outdoor hats/scarves, as well as watches, but the "optional" accessories - jewelry, belts, etc. rarely get worn.

For your belts, where do you store them? I find that both 'out of sight out of mind' & a physically difficult position (like wrapped around other things or hidden deep on overlapping hooks) can have a big effect on how often I end up using my accessories.

The strict diet sounds tough but I hope both it & the medication end up being worth it! I'm not a very creative cook, so I'd end up just eating the same thing over & over lol

I read it all and nodded along. I need to experiment more with three colors, so found your ideas very helpful. Most of my patterns are also on summer clothes. It is too cold for anything but layered sweaters. I have been slowly adding some colored sweaters but my best colors are not available right now. I want more warm greens for cold spring. March will be a month to experiment with color plus neutrals and layers.

What a fun challenge! Maybe a Wear the Accessories challenge is next? Also, moving forward, maybe look for low key ways to add more pattern, like a houndstooth fabric or a boucle or summer tweed jacket that has fun colors? They aren’t as much of a commitment as a print.
