I feel like I've ordered and returned every pleated style Madewell has released in the past two years, and some others besides.&nbsp;</p> <p>I forget what Everlane called that cardi -- Rosewood? Mahogany? It's either a reddish brown or brownish red, depending on lighting. Someday I'll write a post about how reddish-brownish-purplish colours are taking over my wardrobe. I have a lot of them!&nbsp;</p> <p>Rachylou -- the red toque has been a workhorse this winter. Somehow a bright red hat goes with every mask!&nbsp;</p> <p>Suz -- I really enjoy the right shade of green! Olive and moss seem to go with just about everything in my closet, and olive chinos strike a nice balance of being both softer-edged and more boyish than denim, if that makes sense?&nbsp;</p> <p>Bijou -- It's snowing here right now, but having some new shoes to look forward to helps keep my spirits up!</p> <p>Runcarla -- you would rock this mossy green! This is the first time in a long time that I've had so much hair to play with. Waiting not-so-patiently for my bangs to grow out...</p> <p>Liesbeth -- I think it's just psychological. I'm not averse to blues, but I don't reach for them as much in the winter. Light wash denim feels too summery, and dark blue denim feels too crisp for my life/style right now. That leaves me with the medium blue stonewashed jeans in #2, which I do really like paired with browns. But that particular shade looks a little off, to my eye, next to my navy blue puffer (in #5), so if I plan to wear the parka I choose different coloured bottoms. Actually, having a giant navy blue coat is probably part of the reason I don't reach for other blue things; I'm already wearing a big column of blue every other day!</p> <p>Minaminu -- thank you! After mentioning that I had been reaching for them much, I challenged myself to wear my blue items as much as possible. By my count, roughly half of these contain something blue, so I’ll call that a success!</p> <p>1 — hemmed and hawed over color and size with this sweater dress; eventually opted for moss green and have been loving it! Also wearing those dark floral Athleta tights.</p> <p>2 — cinnamon Everlane cardi, striped tee from Boden, old 501s. Sleeves awkwardly rolled up because hand washing. </p> <p>3 — navy blue boyfriend sweater, little merino dress, and floral leggings again (worn for DS’s seventh birthday, which happened mostly on Discord since he requested a big game of Among Us with friends and family )</p> <p>4/5 — Patagonia flannel and black Everlane jeans, bundled up with one of my favorite coat/scarf/hat combos</p> <p>6 — another Patagonia flannel, North Face tights. This was a shoveling-out day outfit.</p> <p>7 — canyon colors! Another (!!) Patagonia flannel, plus rust top and ochre cords. </p> <p>8 — super soft plum colored jumpsuit and plaid Patagonia shirt (think this was Valentines Day?)</p> <p>9 — floral chambray shirt and new pleated pants </p> <p>10/11 — striped flannel again, pleated pants again; bundled up with super warm chocolate brown complement and a scarf my mom knit for my grandmother years ago</p> <p>12/13/14 — blue heather sweater, ochre cords again, chocolate brown boots/parka, and then a quick try-on with these new sneakers. Looking forward to the day when I’ll be able to wear them outside!</p> <p>15 — loving this slouchy combo; boyfriend sweater and pleated pants again, plus convenient wrist scrunchie. </p> <p>Sorry for the inconsistent lighting; this room looks very different depending on the time of day, and the ceiling light is currently out of commission. </p> <p>This winter’s themes are apparently flannel, knitwear, and puffy parkas! </p>
