I have one from Target of all places, may years ago. On the cropped side. I love it. It's so warm. I'm also afraid to wear it and get attacked by PETA here in No Cal.

I have more faux fur jackets that I can ever wear here in the balmy South. I love them. Most are vintage, but a couple I bought new.

My last faux fur purchase was during winter clearance at TJMaxx. It was a short jacket that was softer and less overwhelmingly warm than the vintage pieces I have. I'll try to remember to check for the brand name when I get home, and I'll post it for you.

I have a fake fur jacket that's about 9 years old. It's a deep warm brown, a bit of shape, big collar and not too long. Some winters I've worn it a lot and others I've ignored it. Because its quite bulky I feel best in it when the rest of my outfit is fairly streamlined. On a good day it makes me feel rather glamorous - kind of 'oh I just threw this on and happened to look fabulously chic without even trying'. On a not so good day it makes me look like a short little bear. Who knew the line between the two was so fine? * laugh*

I've got some vintage real fur stoles from my grandmother too. They're really only good for dressing up and red carpet events (still waiting...) although just beautiful.

I have a vintage fur stole that I bought from a thift store that I use to jazzy things up over the holidays. I really love it's soft smoothness and all - but I get lectured about the poor creatures every time I bring it out. I may donate it to an organization that makes teddy bears

I have a deep cream coloured faux fur jacket with a stand up collar. I think it is about hip length and the fur has a crushed texture. I have to say I haven't worn it much because I think its because it's cream and I wish I had bought a more versatile tan/brown shade. I had it about 5 years ago before there was more choice around. I got seduced by it as I love furry things. If I bought one now I would probably go for similar style bust just in a different colour. I agree with Tanya that a shortish length is more useful and enables you to dress it down more easily with jeans if you wish.

I only have a faux fur vest that I wear occasionally, but not nearly as much as I thought I would.
from what I have seen so far of the Fall 2013 fashion shows, it looks that fur will be fairly popular, so i suspect there will be plenty of choices once the weather cools of. Since faux fur is quite a statement on its own, I would go for something that is quite simple and streamlined in cut, and relatively short.

I had a cheetah print I had to pass on. It was a bomber type. I still have a blue and brown crop jacket that I'll probably pass on too.

Anyone have a faux fur jacket? I have been wanting one for a while, and just today browsing for something I may like. This will be something I will probably have for a long time so am wondering what length and style you may consider that will be around a while. What I am liking is a short like 22, 23 inches in length. Want something dressy enough for wearing over the Christmas holidays, and will still be OK with jeans or such the rest of winter.
I know you all are wrapped up in summer right now. I am in southern California so doesn't get too cold here, but still cold enough for one at night in winter months.
