Another thought for hot-weather dressing:

Wear lightweight jewelry. I can't bear heavy necklaces, bracelets, or earrings when it's hot or humid.

I understand just what you feel. It's 110 degrees out here and I can't imagine wearing anything but shorts and tanks at home through the day.

Just be kind to yourself. Summers are especially hard when you have hormonal fluctuations (I hate it myself) and I always take out an hour to sit in front of the AC n do nothing else. Like literally nothing --- it kinda recharges my battery! I take a nap if I'm tired, and I wear tried and tested combos because just the task of coming up with a creative but comfortable outfit can feel overwhelming on some days.

Just chiming in to commiserate - when it gets super hot out my style mojo gets a little lost too. All I want to do in 90+ weather is wear lightweight, breathable fabrics and sip some iced tea!

Tracey. It is so hot here. I have literally taken to showering twice a day just to "freshen" up. I wash my clothes after every a single wearing.

The focus has been on cheap tee shirts that can tolerate the sweat and a black skirt that seems to thrive in the weather. I haven't been feeling very fashionable either. But I give myself credit for getting up, showering, and showing up.

Thanks ladies! It is just so hot for June! I seriously mourned not getting to wear so many Spring ideas in my head. Shifting gears with that in my head I think is a contributing factor. Recognizing that after reading your comments leads me to thinking I should try on those in my head and play in my closet. As for outfits for now, I have 3 weeks solved by the GYPO challenge that started today and by then I should be itching to try my own creations!

I would concentrated on feeling cool & calm Could you pull out 3 to 5 complete hot weather outfits & have them at the ready, so you don't have to think about clothes for a while?

Yes when it is super hot you just need to be practical about it. You are looking terrific in all your latest WIW so you can just repeat them and look wonderful.

Painting nails fun colours is one thing that is not weight or weather dependant!

I agree with the others, stay inside in the cool AC. Don't put pressure on yourself to go outside - esp. in the afternoon if you can help it. I sometimes treat summer days as if they are very cold winter days and I just stay inside pretty much all day long. And pre-cool the car before getting in if I must go someplace. I have to admit that I'm pretty used to the high heat after spending so much of my life in Texas - I just get up extra early and try to enjoy the morning. And use heavy lined drapes in most of the house as needed.

For me, sometimes summer heat makes everything feel like too much effort.

Also, if this helps, one of my friends has occasional bouts of depression, and hot weather is one of her triggers for it. But she discovered that exercise (swimming laps in the summer) really helps counteract it.

Oh yeah, crazy weather just makes me throw in my cards. I started packing away my winter stuff and gave up. But then we got hit with some hot days and I had nothing to wear because I never got out the summer stuff.

I have to agree with Donna about the temperature playing a role. When it gets warm, I get fashion fatigue. My goal in hot weather is to just look decent and to keep cool. I wouldn't worry about it too much--when the temps start cooling, it's very likely you will feel differently. At least that's my experience (she says while wearing her Zella capris and tank top.)

It's the heat and trying to stay cool but decent. I'd do a bit of escapism and curl up with a good book. Be gentle with yourself. This too shall pass.

I sympathize. The heat can definitely have that effect! I feel wilted. I just did a 20 mile bike ride in 94 degree weather and now feel like I need a nap! You will get your mojo back, I'm sure.

If it were 97 degrees here, I think I would feel the same way. Go to the beach and/or pool; rinse and repeat.

Where I am it was foggy this morning and now it is merely overcast; hard to believe it is nearly summer and I am wearing charcoal gray to match the cool breezy outside.

I have never felt this way about getting dressed, but lately it is a chore... When did that happen? I honestly think that skipping over Spring and dealing with these hot temps (97 today) has really taken me for a ride.
I am just not motivated.. I found myself shopping like crazy to infuse new items in. I have gone through all my clothes, purged and folded my drawers in the Konmari method and have never been more pleased to open my drawers or look in my closet... Other than trying to lose this darn weight that I know is menopause related... My life is going wonderfully , so why the blues when it comes to styling my outfits, which has always brought me such joy and been my artistic expression?
Anyone experience anything similar and have advice?
