Can you wear a MaryJane style shoe Thistle? They seem a bit more feminine style which seems to me more of your persona from viewing previous threads. Naot has a number of shoes in this style if Naot is your manufacturer of choice.

I do like the ones you posted in the red tones but feel that perhaps the shoe is a bit too masculine for you.

I just ordered these to chase my toddlers around...

Cole Haan Alisa Oxford, i decided i liked the colored sole better than the black sole on the metallic ones.

Okay, so passing on these! Thanks for all of the input. I have to keep the heels on my shoes at or under 1.75 inches, and usually the lower the better as long as they have support. I managed to break both of my legs and injure my back in an accident abut 15 years ago. And I have a toddler, so there is not such thing as a sitting event!

I agree with others...these are making a straight up menswear statement. I would love these on you with a different color, or with a little bit of a heel.
What kind of statement are you trying to make. Do you want something you can wear frequently, so you can't do a lot of color? Then maybe something in the texture and shine arena would be better.

Like Sveta, I like these in the cognac and the dark red colour. How would you be wearing them? If they are primarily for trousers or jeans then most of the shoe will be covered so I'd look for something with a detail at the toe (like the punchouts that you see on a brogue), or something in an interesting colour, or texture such as snakeskin/lizard etc.

These don't seem like a "statement" in black.

did you see Angie's post on fun footware?

http://youlookfab.com/2012/12/.....-footwear/

I saw the Cole Haan oxfords in metallic blue today. Very comfy, beautiful and a definite statement! (And on sale!)

Ankle boots of some sort would also be more of a statement....

I like that they look masculine, as Anna points out.

I like the shoes myself, though I feel unsure about commenting on their statement piece status in *your* wardrobe, simple because I don't think I have enough familiarity with your style.

But I don't think it would look like schoolboy shoes if styled right, or they might and that could be a good thing (a la the style Una and Rae sometimes adopt).

I also suspect the cherry red flavour will look more 'statement'-y and less schoolboy, more tomboy.

This reminds me of what I used to wear in private school. Bad memories *shudders*

Onto the shoes, I would pass on this one. I think they will drag down your style quotient instead of being a statement piece.

Thistle these look too much like school shoes to me. I agree that footwear can really add that special something but I would keep looking. i am no help with suggestions as I am in Australia but I think there is a lot of choices available. I would be keen for you to consider something in a patent leather which I feel softens and creates a sleek look on an Oxford:)
