She would pick out things me in thrift shops that were ahead of their time. I don’t know how she did it. Now I look for trends in Fashion Weeks. Especially in NYC and Paris and Milan. I don’t seek out the coverage but will check it out when I have idle time. I find it more entertaining as art in general than applicable to my style. I always wait to see what filters down to wearable looks that are available at retail. Then I watched the shows regularly online. Now I do so sporadically because it's part of my job - (that's still where most trends are born) - but I do not enjoy it that much anymore. I'm annoyed at the lack of diversity of the models, and how badly many of the designers behave. That said, I have to keep my finger on the pulse and look at what the big designers and my favourute designers are doing. So I do check in seasonally. Don't want to be distracted by the music so I will mute that if I see a video recap.&nbsp; I also don't want to see the street style folks who hover around the shows.&nbsp; I don't ever check out red carpet photos, either.&nbsp; &nbsp;No interest in dresses for standing around.&nbsp; One thing I do like about the videos is you can see the clothes as the models move. Or if I see an outfit I particularly admire from a designer who is not on my hit list I might then go through the runway stills of that designer. </p> <p>I do get ideas from them.
