<p>Very interesting hearing about your pregnancy outfit.&nbsp; Do you follow Inside Out style blog?&nbsp; It's the only other one I read regularly, partly because she's Australian. Her approach is very analytical (sometimes too much, for me) and I think you may enjoy it.

<p>Adriana, I can relate! I've met with that realtor 2 days in a row, and will see him again tomorrow to get the keys. When I happened to run into him while taking a walk today, I was cursing my luck--now I have to figure out a 4th thing to wear!

<p>I never was interested in fashion. And when Angie asked us about our fashion era ( cannot remember exactly) I didn't have a clue. I like to look good and healthy and yes, attractive to be honest, but I never knew the secret fashion society.<br />
But now(after YLF) I feel I know things. I look at people, like with the oscars, and try to "see" what is going on.<br />
And also dress now to enhance and hide, like you did with your pregnancy.<br />
And it works. But there are days that I cannot be bothered with it, and just wear the same skirt 5 days in a row.

<p><div>Suntiger, those subconscious cues are where the power is!</div><div><br /></div><div>BD, I've just put together something about that friend I'd never noticed before; when I met her, I told my boyfriend she was gorgeous. Then he met her and, looking just at her figure, didn't agree. It's taken til now to realize she must've been dressing very strategically when I met her.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>RL, the thinky part's the fun part for me (but I've been messaged by another YLFer who *hates* that I frequently bring it up)<br /></div>

<p>Yes Grace Jones does look great! She's the quintessential Dramatic type and makes the most of it.<br />
People who are not interested in fashion like to dismiss it (and people who are interested) as frivolous-which is entirely unfair. The study of how proportions and colors interact is very scientific. We (subconscously) are using the scientific method when we shop and create outfits. The hypothesis is (garment-color) will for for me because (my body lines, my existing pieces). We test it by fitting it on. Then we review, do we need to repeat the experiment or change something? With enough analysis it could be a dissertation topic!

<p>
<div>This article reminds me of a recent conversation with my son, who is forever complaining about me being on YLF. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Getting ready to look at an apartment, I was putting on a sparkly necklace and pulling my hair back. I explained that I didn't want to look like a "dumpy old lady", so was raising the gaze from my pot belly, and told him about the first time the power of fashion was really clear to me--a job interview while he was in utero. Obviously, they couldn't legally refuse to hire me for being pregnant, but just as obviously, that happens all the time and can't be proved. So a friend with theater experience and a deep closet dressed me in navy pants, a butter yellow peplum top, and sparkly earrings, and told me to pull my hair up. When I arrived to start the job a couple months later, my boss about fell over when I told him who I was. Kiddo was stunned "that's so...scientific". <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>So Grace Jones obviously is looking great. Looking closer though, and using what I've learned, I see some clever dressing going on as well.&nbsp; No matter how toned our legs are, after a certain age, our knees just don't look the same, so otk boots. She's thin, but not curvy. The cut of the bodysuit elongates her legs and might accentuate the butt she does have. The belt accentuates the waist, which makes her chest look bigger. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Like I said on yesterday's post, being able to pick things like this apart always make me feel like I'm learning a secret code. And yes, I'd be glad to have her starting point, now or at her age. <br /></div><div><a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-6764777/Graces-Jones-70-steals-Tommy-X-Zendaya-PFW-show.html?fbclid=IwAR3P722GbR8yG3lS8fkPRbODAW4QXHs9EkuqIQp61LhdKlyNmaV8cd75Chg">https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tv.....ya-PFW-sho</a><br /></div></p>
