Shiny, I am SOOO with you about the cognac boots! I recently found those Keen boots to fit well in the calf because you can adjust the strap, and they look good and proportioned on a petite leg:http://www.shoes.com/en-US/Pro.....+Boot.aspx

Everything already mentioned!!! The faux or vegan leather is a particular peeve of mine too.

And I'll add -

Why can't you just tell me the shoulder measurement?? Because if it fits in the shoulders, almost anything else can be altered. Maybe this is particular to me, but shoulder measurement tends to be the single biggest predictor that a garment may actually fit me.

Not telling me the rise measurement - only saying it's "mid-rise" or "low-rise" or "high-rise" - terms that have zero consistency anymore for most brands.

Enticing me with a thumbnail and title that seems to indicate a garment offered in a zillion colors is also available in petites, but then when I get to the petite page, it's only available in a single color, usually black. And you wonder why I wear so much black. That's all, apparently, petite people like to wear.

Petite sizing that is designed for people exactly 5'4" tall, but then saying on your sizing guide that petite sizing is designed for people 5'4" " and under".... there is a very very big difference between someone 5'4" and only 5'0... or shorter.

Petite sizing that is just right in the length & proportion, if only I'd lose about 20 lbs.....and despite gaining weight recently I'm still well within normal BMI. I am all for having a range of sizes for the skinny mini petites. It's just that when I size up, I'm now in 5'4" range and the proportions are all wrong.

No tall boots for those of us with narrow calfs AND short legs. I am getting desperate here. Even Duo boots assumes that all petite people can fit in a 14-15 inch shaft boot. I'd like to know who are these 5'0 tall people with 12 inch calves and 15 inch lower legs??? Because my golden ratio proportions are supposedly "ideal"-- and that is an over-the-knee boot on me!!! Okay, so I am willing to pay for alterations for the right boot - but the boot styles have all sorts of detailing on top which makes such alterations impossible. There may be a handful of boots out there that will fit my measurement, but they are all boring black and chocolate brown, or they are cowboy boots. I want COGNAC boots. Please. How many friggin' years have I been looking? Sigh...

Having to wait until a trend is past peek to be able to find it offered in petites.

Expensive handbags that hide their security tags so well, even the sales clerks can't find them. Then every time you enter any store, you set off the alarm bells...

Facebook feeding me ads about clothing I already just ordered. Kind of redundant, no? Show me something else I might be interested in, instead. Also this is awful at xmas time because it gives away what I have bought as gifts for the family!

Scratchy itchy labels and care tags, I have sensitive skin, they leave red marks on me
I use this tool to remove neck labels http://kasiulai.lt/images/610930%20prym%201.jpg , and tear one by one little sheet those care labels on the side of garment. If you cut them with scissors (no matter how close), they become unbearably itchy. But I have made holes in my clothes previously while trying to get rid of tags.

Synthetic, unpleasant near body fabrics everywhere, acrylic sweaters that become terribly pilled after one wear.
I tried on a stylish upscaled sweatshirt yesterday, unfortunately it was 100% polyester, I was immediately uncomfortable and hot Under what conditions is one supposed to wear this thick unbreathable piece?

Skinny jeans/pants (in your size!) so skinny that only 11 year olds are actually able to shove their feet into.

Nodding my head at these. But to add to Echo's first peeve, websites that list an item as real leather when it is not (looking at you Amazon). Beware of certain no name leather bags on Amazon according to the customer comments.

Also, men's plaid shirts that have a tag identifying the maker visible on the front of the shirt, like sewn onto the front of a pocket or into the button placket. Sometimes they can be taken off, but sometimes it's awkward and my DH won't let me cut the one off his North Face shirt I want to borrow... :D

The little shoulder ribbons are designed to keep the garment on the hanger during shipping or on the sales floor and are meant to be snipped out when you buy it. Sort of a pain, but it keeps the garment in good condition and also makes it look better in the store.

Fitted linings with no give in skirts or dresses that could maybe work really well on me if it weren't for that %&#@ lining pulling on my hips.

Little details, like leather trim, that make something that would otherwise be completely machine-washable dry clean only. Especially if they're not something I really see as adding to the design.

Also really annoyed by the little shoulder ribbons, which always pop out if I don't cut them off, and the issues with frumpy petite clothing and with small shoe sizes never being in stock.

And, of course, I agree with DEB that the labor conditions at so many companies are certainly peeve-worthy, to say the least.

My #1 pet peeve is too thn material. I mean really, I only want to wear one layer in the summer. And in the winter, I need warm clothes!!

This is followed very closely by retailers only carrying my size on line. So I can't shop at most of them in person, leading to vicious cycle of returns.

My fashion peeve is not so much about a particular item but about how the items are made. My concern is first world greed versus third world problems. My peeve is about fashion companies that use child and adult labourers who work in sub standard conditions, receiving pay far, far below minimum wage, in factories that distribute to mainstream clothing retailers. Impoverished and desperate people work behind closed, often locked doors of sweatshops where verbal, physical and sexual abuse is common place. The mission of companies like Nike, Gap, Old Navy, Forever 21, K-Mart, Rivers, Wal Mart and more, is unethical, mega profit driven, and I refuse to support such companies on any level.

I'm with all you guys who mentioned sheerness, especially in casual tee shirts. And with Gaylene on the extra-long care labels! What is frustrating is that they put the care indications at the end, when they could put it in the beginning so we could cut off the rest. And I noticed they tend to become longer and longer, no matter the price of the item.

My pet peeve is shoe size: stores never seem to have any in mine left (6.5), even when the collection just came out. The only luck is if I come the day boxes are being opened. Usually, I must settle for second best. :(

Zappos not delivering in my region.

Paying anything over 50$ for anything and seeing it fall apart at the seems after a few wears.

On a jacket, sleeves that are too long but end with a complicated detail, such as a zipper or a row of buttons, making it that much more expensive or impossible to alter for petites.

Include me in the camp of those who have great ire toward stores that do not include exact percentages of fabric content on their website.

I also get ticked when shipping is not free BUT the retailer has no information on garment measurements, even if you call customer service. If you're going to make me pay for shipping, at least give me a fighting chance at knowing up front whether I'm buying the right size or whether the garment will even work in any size.

Another gripe is when places put polyester in a garment to cheapen the manufacturing costs, when there is really no need for the polyester (for sheen or drape, etc.).

Humongous scarves that drown me in their fabric.

Petite clothing being usually the dumpiest and frumpiest of what the designer has to offer.

Unusual names for colors that are not unusual. For instance, can we just have "navy" instead of "Goodnight Nora," or can we have "Black" instead of "Midnight Sky"?

I'd better stop, because I can feel my blood pressure rising! Eek!

Logos. On anything. Big or small. For the life of me, I can't figure out why it is fashionable, or stylish, to announce to the world who made your shirt or handbag.

Scratchy tags on the back neck of a shirt or sweater that are impossible to remove without cutting a hole in the item.

Care labels sewn in a side seam that are at least a foot long. Removing those fabric tapeworms makes it impossible to know how to launder the item when it comes time to clean it.

When a store's website won't tell you the exact percentages of fiber content.
Also when they don't tell you if a garment is made of knit fabric or woven (they'll just say it's a stretch fabric--but that can be either).
While I'm at it, dress measurements that measure from the "natural waist" to the hem. WHOSE natural waist, pray tell? It's so much more accurate to measure from the back of the neck to the hem. Grrrr.

Really cool shoes with impossibly high heels. I have 'settled' more than once on a shoe runner up because it was a more manageable height.

See through tee shirts. I don't want to wear a camisole under my tee shirt every time.

Exposed zippers at the back. I know it's a design element, but it takes away from the sleekness of many items and unnecessarily adds "edge".

I remember there was recently a post about how people hated when there was detail or embellishment on the front of a garment, but not on the back.

I have been SO frustrated lately by the fact that online websites cannot distinguish between leather and non-leather. Even when the site itself has a category for "leather", at least half the garments included are "faux" (non-leather).

I realize that sites can only search according to the terms they are given, and "faux leather" still uses the word leather, thus the site cannot distinguish. But they need to make separate categories, especially when the site itself offers a clickable link to "leather". To put faux into the same category is not only frustrating, but factually incorrect. Grr.

So what is YOUR fashion pet peeve? I don't mean about the way others dress or anything potentially unkind, just pet peeves about garment (or accessory) construction, labelling, searches, quality, fabrics, etc.
