Additonally, while most people haven't thought much about upcoming seasons, the designers have to have their collections ready well in advance. They have already decided what's "in fashion" for next season and for Resort next year. Consumers can influence what stays popular, but it is the designers who decide what will be shown on the runway and will influence and be modified for RTW.</p> <p>In other words, designers have always had upcoming collections in the works or completed well before they were due in stores. It is only relatively recently, though, that average consumers have seen previews. Resort Collection.</p> <p>I am all turned around. I don't know what season it is. That is NEXT YEAR. I can pre-order for next year? Why would I do that? With all this pre-publicity, everything is guaranteed to be out-of-fashion by then.</p> <p>Don't know. Seems like business suicide to me. </p>
