I have to say that the five year old in the heart sunglasses and faux fur coat and scarf absolutely steals the show :)!</p> <p>We always give clothes to our young adult kids. My older kid is very tall and requires tall sweaters and pants (or XL in certain brands that have worked in the past), so that usually means a sweater or two from J. Crew or LL Bean and pants/cords from the Gap.</p> <p>My younger is easier to fit but harder to please :). I got them a plaid wool blend coat from A.P.C. (via TheRealReal) but they don't like the colors so it's going back. We got hubs new base layers for cold weather, soft new pajamas, new hat and lined gloves and a beautiful red cashmere scarf. I also got him three fun new graphic tees. </p> <p>My “gifts” are the Altuzarra dress and ba&amp;sh velvet blazer I posted about last week. Hubs insisted on both after I tried them on, so who was I to argue? He also got me a pair of lovely handmade silver maple leaf earrings from an artisan in old Quebec. Plus we supported some friends’ pop-up shop/gallery in Manhattan and got me a scarf from one of the vendors and a silver ring from another. So yeah, I kind of made out like a bandit this year, despite our promises.</p> <p>I bought some fun fashiony gifts for family and friends in Quebec too — lovely hand-painted silk scarves and artisan jewelry made by local artists. My favorite kind of gift shopping! Plus some fun slipper socks and graphic tees.</p> <p>Pic is me in a scarf from the NYC artist pop-up. I never wear yellow, but I love it. I did get the gym tops I’d wanted, which is great. </p> <p>My son got his black suede Ugg boots with galoshes, silk long Johns (thought he had a matching shirt but it’s poly so he’s returning it), a NASA sweatshirt he’s on the fence about, and a ls merino base layer. The stocking stuffers I got him were goofy nostalgic items; he is returning most of them, but is excited that I’m ordering a flip fold, a suede brush, waterproofing spray for the boots, and a lint brush to be delivered to his dorm.
