Kendra, I agree that the junior size presents no issues whatsoever -- it's juniors style that can be a problem. If you find a style that is age-appropriate and it happens to be in a junior size, that's nobody's business but your own.

You know what's funny about AEO- they are marketed like a juniors store, but their sizes are women's because they are even numbers. Their sizes do run goofy, though- even on tops. I have needed a medium in some things, and an extra large in others.

Ahh, phew! Thank you all for assuaging my fears!! I was a little self conscious about the concept, but now I look forward to rocking the jeans. And will be more open minded to checking out the juniors dept.!

Chewy, I have noticed you get a lot of great finds at American Eagle. I know they are technically juniors, but I find their fit to be more liberal than most. I love to get casual tanks and blouses there too! I have loved their jeans in the past but have found their rise to be wayyyy to low the last few seasons.

Nah, nothing wrong at all. If you're only wearing juniors stuff and styling it just like the teenagers it'd be a problem, but, really, who can tell just by looking at a pair of jeans that they're juniors sized?

I'm more than 30, and I occasionally buy things in the juniors department. It's all about the particular item and how you style it.

I don't think it is. If the style looks really young, then it might be a problem. But lots of women's jeans also have distressing, so that's not so out of the ordinary. If the jeans fit well, then go for it!

I am a jeans-a-holic but with recent weight loss have found mkyself plateaued between size 10/12 pants size. I have tried on all the usual suspects for brands in my price range (Gap, Banana, LOFT, Target, JCrew, etc...) and a few premium denim brands. But can't seem to find anything to fit right.

Then I came acrossed some mid-rise juniors denim at Marshall's. The size 13 fits me like a glove! There is some distressing but I like it, and love alot of the details. But is it faux-pas for an almost 30 year old professional to be wearing juniors denim???
