OMG, Rute, it's such a shame I skipped all your posts about your DS's illness:-((.
I have tears in my eyes, and totally put me down to read back your threads now, and can only hope you will forgive me I was not there when posted about his condition, as I always felt you are so close to my heart, for a reason I cannot explain.
It's unbearable to see your child suffer - I cannot even imagine- it's no wonder,- and completely understandable-if you're feeling in a rut, or so...
Please be sure you are in my daily thoughts, and prayers. Hope He'll recover soon, after his treatments and hair loss....Take care, sweetie.

Rute I was going to say exactly what Suz said. Don't put yourself under too much pressure. You ALWAYS look incredibly stylish and now may not be the time to focus too much on how your style is journeying. Allow yourself comfort and k ow that you always look wonderful.

krishnidoux has given you some great ideas to amp things up & suz is right about comfort. I understand the feeling that something is not right (even though there is nothing technically wrong). For me it usually means some sort of style shift is about to happen. My favourite is #3 too.

My first thought was, "If she's in a fashion rut, I'd like to be in the same rut with her!" Really, you are looking great in these more casual outfits. The ladies have some good advice if you want to tweak a bit, but really you have some beautiful clothes and great style to put them together with.

Rute, you've been under enormous stress lately so the fact you are dressing for comfort makes a LOT of sense. Give yourself a break, gorgeous lady! !

Also, your "comfort" is super stylish, so no worries on that score.

I like every one of these outfits and suspect you may simply be a bit bored with your clothes or your go-to casual combinations. Also, perhaps you have had to dress casually more often due to circumstances and your dressy soul can only stand so much of that!

I like the little formula I picked up from Shannon's pinterest board (below). It is helping to guide me to mix things up a little more in my outfits. Looking for that one "interest" element - texture, shine, something unexpected.

A lot of these outfits would look more balanced if we were also seeing your lovely face. So if you have been studying them "headless" then you may be too rough on yourself. The skin tone and hair bookends, after all. And the smile adds instant glamour!

I am no help. I like all of these and they fit in very well with my personal casual style. Compared to your "usual outfits" these don't look as tailored and crisp. Perhaps shirts that have some starch would help? Or some patterned hose for the dresses?

Rute I think you have great style - maybe you are just a bit bored with some of your clothes. A few suggestions, wear #1 with dark skinny jeans for a mix of darker colours and textures, then maybe a more colourful scarf. #2 - darker bottom, as Krish suggests, otherwise I love the mix of your blouse and scarf.

I love these outfits, Rute! You have fab casual style.
I agree with all of the comments above, but the only thing i would add is maybe darker tights in your outfit in #3? The nylons seem a little "light" in weight as compared to the mid-calf boot and the chunky cardi. Just my two cents, but honestly, I picked up a few ideas here, more than being able to offer suggestions....

Rute, is that bad to dress for comfort??? This is a trap I usually fell in, too-nowadays I really favor comfort over anything else, but still --I work hard to do it stylish-like all your outfits, here:-). So I really like all your "casuals"!
Or,- did you mean that you are lazy/fed up/whatever to dress up, and choose to dress like so (more casual) for work, or other events you have formerly "dressed more up"(in a classic way, like heels, pencils, button downs, more tailored, or sophisticated dresses, etc?)
I knew your wardrobe, and you have plenty of fab items, including these ones, and I do not see anything wrong switching a bit for more comfort.

I really like the dress outfit here and I think it has a lot to do with your fantastic belt. Studying your pics, I think it's all fine except it needs one eye anchor element that would stand out, it needs contrast. Everything goes together nicely, now you should funk it up. Add one accessory that stands out.

Pic 1 : I would swap either the boots or the bag for something just a bit more unique, strange, unexpected, either in colour, texture or shape. Cowboy boots. Red bag. Bright purple bag.

Pic 2: I so love how the scarf ties in together the orange and grey... that should be the focus but the show is stolen by your skinnies. I would go for slightly darker pants (pick up the dark tone in the scarf). Or dark grey skirt! With matching tights.

Pic 4: Definitively change your bag for another colour. Yellow would be wow. This outfit has a nice crisp colour block vibe, so colour block it more! One colour is missing. Something as simple as plastic yellow earrings. I agree about the pant leg issue. It could be remedied by rolling the pant leg (if it works) à la Reese Witherspoon, or wearing boots.

Well, this all looks very stylish to me!
Only suggestion is wearing your skinnies slightly longer, so there is a little more slouch on your shoes. Maybe trying belts with tucks and semi-tucks to vary things a little too?

I've always admired a person who has a style.
Mine is always changing and lately not in a good way.
I've been wearing over and over again two formulas:
- dress (not the classic ones I have, but the large ones) + chunky wool cardigans + flat boots
- leather jackets + tunics + skinnies.

Now that I look at the pictures, something seems off, can you help me giving tips how to improve this casual side of my style?
