I think it could have been from a fabulous book I read perhaps a decade or more ago by an ex-model called Alison Houtte I think, who opened a vintage store in Brooklyn called Hooti Couture (fantastic name!) and wrote a book about it. “Alligators, Old Mink and New Money: One Woman’s Adventures in Vintage Clothing”. Anyone who likes reading and would appreciate a great insight into the feminist fashion revolution of the early to mid twentieth century will enjoy this. I’d never even heard of her until this book entered my radar a few months ago. Bonus: the audiobook version is quite good too. </p> <p>McCardell is from my home state so it’s especially meaningful to me, but I think any woman who has longed for more comfort, ease, and function in clothing, and POCKETS, will appreciate this.
