I personally don't love chambray shirts so styling ideas don't come easily to me on this one. I have seen them worn with dressy pencil skirts and pearls and I find that quite appealing, and I think that would suit you. Worn casually as you do here with denim jeans is also a good look. The chambray shirt over white pants also looks wonderfully fresh and modern. Ok thought about how I might try wearing one.....slouchy black pants or harem leggings with dropped crotch, chambray shirt untucked and fine knit cropped sweater (black for me) over the shirt. It is not as crisp or as bold as the clothes&nbsp;I enjoy wearing the most.&nbsp;</p> <p>This is even more obvious to me when I compare this chambray&nbsp;to denim shirt I used to have&nbsp;(but passed on as it was a bit narrow across the shoulders) - the structure and texture, even the dark colour&nbsp;of denim is much more <i><b>me</b><u></u></i><u></u> than the relaxed chambray.&nbsp;I am aware of this, yet I cannot ignore the feeling I am also missing out to see something with the shirt I currently have.</p> <p>In any case, I'll get on with styling experiments as per suggestions and pick some outfits to wear&nbsp;outside. I find that a few hours of wearing something IRL gives the best opportunity to fine tune with what I really like about something and identify it's actual potential. Great fit, weight, color, style. I have to force myself to wear it. I last forced myself on Wednesday. I thought I styled it cutely, with black/white micro-houndstooth pants and taupe suede booties. Oh, and a great spring-weight long scarf that's sort of a tweedy black and white. I got a compliment on the outfit &nbsp;from a discerning colleague.</p> <p>But at the end of the day I was seriously considering deep-sixing the shirt. I think it might not be me.</p> <p>So--based on my experience--I'm going to be a teeny bit of a spanner here and ask you if this shirt really fits in with your current style direction. Don't get me wrong, I think the forum is giving killer styling suggestions that may very well make you happy with the shirt. But I do wonder if a chambray shirt is what you want to be wearing.
