You've collected some great essentials. Now you can have some fun and add some statement pieces. I like the idea of red and leopard.

Thanks for all the votes for leopard prints…the search continues.

Kiwigal/Sally – Thanks! That striped sweater is very lightweight and I'm already needing a layer under it or over it from now until spring, but that’s ok! Today is our first really cold day of the fall with the temps getting “not quite to 40” (Celsius 4). Good idea to go for some very differnet footwear

Thanks Tanya! Great ideas, especially the recommendation for textured pants. You are right that I have only very simple ones, either jeans or black (or other dark colors).

Gigi – I do have a pair of white jeans I did not think of for fall/winter, stuck in my old traditional patterns. Time to pull them out and wear them! I think they would look great with the camel sweater especially. (I must confess that this was not my idea, saw it on a blogger ). The suede booties are actually a little bit lighter than they look in the find photo.

Joy, good idea about light bottoms and some toppers. I do have a grey
cocoon cardigan although it’s so casual it’s almost loungewear, and a darker grey/brwn knit moto jacket….and was thinking about getting a knit blazer in a bright color.

Eden Farrow, as I said in my original posting I have a LOT of scarves, both indoor an outdoor ones so I’m good there. I’m not a fan of OTK
boots on me, I think they’d be too hard to style on a very short person like me and to be honest they don’t interest me that much. I am however considering getting a second pair of tall boots in brown/cognac. I only have one pair now and they are black. A leather jacket would work well for me in fall and spring and I’ve been looking for one for several years but finding the right fit has been elusive. My winters are really cold so a leather jacket would be an indoor topper in our really cold winters. I will keep looking.

Helen11 yes, you said it just right, my wardrobe is keeping me happy and now I can focus on holding out for perfect additions! Well said! Your way of saying it makes me smile!

Robin yes a cream topper/sweater would be good (there is a turtleneck in that color I forgot to include, added it here) and I do love the idea of a faux fur vest. I went shopping with a good friend a few weekends ago and we stopped to pet all the “bunnies” which is what I was calling all the faux fur toppers we saw.

Love the idea of leopard scarf and bag, they would really spice up a neutral outfit. Not sure what kind of toppers you have but that could also be nice in a light color like a stone or cream. And a fur vest could be fun too.

I like the orange colour block sweater, too!
Light coloured or textured boots sound like a good way to add interest. It's good to hear that your wardrobe is keeping you pretty happy - you can hold out for the perfect items now.

I agree with Gigi on getting some light bottoms, like white or cream jeans or culottes. I would also add some sort of topper that would work indoors, like a grey cocoon cardigan, a knit blazer or Moto jacket.

Leopard is a good way to add a bit of spice for somebody like me who tends to do a lot of grey, brown/tan, and blue. I just added a Corso Como vans style sneaker in a leopard print haircalf to my shoe closet. I agree with Kiwigal/Sally, maybe a leopard bootie would be a good addition.

Unrelated: I normally don't like orange type colors but that colorblock sweater is so fun.

Hmm, how about adding a light-colored bottom or light-colored pair of booties? It looks like all of your bottoms and shoes are dark. I've always worn dark shoes but am looking for an ecru-colored pair of booties to change things up a bit this year.

I love your seasonal purchases, this is a wonderful wardrobe base. I especially like the star and striped sweaters and the sleeveless turtlenecks.

I agree that a leopard scarf and bag would be wonderful additions. A bright red (or any other bright that suits you) with some interesting detail - diagonal hem, flounce, peplum would be great too. If adding new pants, I would go for an interesting texture as you do not seem to have anything like that, perhaps velvet(een) or coated denim, plaid etc.

I agree leopard accessories would be a fun addition to the wardrobe. A scarf and a bag would be great with most of these pieces.

Looking at the boots - if adding a new pair I would go for something quite different- red, blue, snakeskin, leopard etc...

Your turtle neck sweaters and your striped sweater are gorgeous!

Hi fabbers!

I haven't been around much lately, although I have been stalking. I got busy with a bunch of stuff (all good) and was also in need of a big break from all forms of social media.

I could use some ideas for my fall/winter wardrobe and would love to hear what you think.

Like last spring, I needed to replenish, but not quite as much. Here are the new jeans, boots, sweaters/tops I've bought this fall, plus one sparkly top for the holidays and a new black hobo bag. I have a bunch of good older stuff in my closet too, but what I'm posting here is pretty representative of my wardrobe overall. The cashmere sweater with stars is more blue than shown in the find. I've been wearing most of it except a few of the warmer sweaters which it has not been cold enough for yet. All pretty basic, neutral, and casual. I'm happy with the quality overall, which was not always my pattern in the past so that is good. I already have some good coats (red, royal blue, black) and toppers plus a pretty extensive collection of scarves.

I would love to hear any suggestions you might have that would spice up this wardrobe.

For example I'm thinking of adding a bright red sweater maybe with a diagonal hem, brown booties, pants in tan or brown, the HEWI perfect leopard bag, a leopard scarf.....now that I think about it that set of items would make a great outfit!

THANKS!
