Well done! You are a quick learner. I also am not a great end of season sale shopper - occasionally the perfect piece does show up but I find that rare.

This is the first spring/summer season I took Angie's advice and shopped early. Since our hot usually is not until August, September, and can be very hot in October I have always found myself hunting in desperation at the sales in July. But fall and winter is a longer season. Although I have been shopping and getting footwear early, not much incentive to shop too early. I like to start in October and do the most then as I have some ideas of what I may want for the holiday season. This year though I will be going to cooler climates a week in September and another in October.

Just like Suz, I've started prepping with more purchases at the start of the season. Fortunately, early season "sales" are common, and I usually find that I'm not buying items at a premium, and, often, favorites are gone in my size before they reach clearance anyway!

Keep your eye on your lists, but don't be able to be open to serendipity and the discovery of a great "wildcard" item. In moderation, these unplanned pieces can give real spark to a wardrobe!

One of the changes I've made since joining YLF is shopping earlier in the season. The only thing I really buy at end of season now are occasional replacements/ upgrades for much worn, much loved closet essentials that happen to be on sale and that I happen to notice.

It's great you have kept the tags on the items you are unsure about.

After several YLFabbers discussed their wardrobe, making lists, etc. I decided to list my fall/winter clothing-I haven't checked my wardrobe yet to make sure I didn't miss something.

What I learned-my initial idea of what I needed is correct, and, I filled very few holes at NAS. Which is probably why I was a little freaked out, buying unplanned items. Some of which I may still return.

But, it definitely helped to make a list. Now I can focus my shopping. I also didn't include items I may wear that I don't really consider fall/winter, such as short sleeve shirts.

And I am only filling a few summer holes if I find them. Otherwise I've stopped looking at summer items, despite the sales.
