I used to reserve fragrance only for special events; I had a bottle of Burberry and Hanae Mori butterfly and that was it. But I've always liked scented products on my body.<br /> This summer I really got inspired to build a fragrance wardrobe that feels as modern, playful, and versatile as my clothing wardrobe. Most of my fragrances are samples, miniatures or small decants.<br /> My workplace isn't fragrance free but I work with a few people with scent sensitivity. I like my sillage and strength of scent subtle anyway. At most I use one squirt and walk into the spray so it's diffused across my body vs. concentrated strongly. I like the idea of my scent staying close to me like a hug, but don't want to have a perfume trail following me when I leave the room. At home or away from work, I'll refresh my scent by applying it directly to my skin. I forego the scents with monster sillage (like Lolita Lempicka) while I'm at work, too. </p> <p>Thanks Angie! They are FAR less tight on me than on the model; the fabric drapes and doesn't cling, but they aren't falling off of my hips either. Tanya, I basically have forest/emerald green, cobalt, and burgundy as my staple/signature colors. They are so rich and make me happy. I go towards slightly brighter versions (kelly green, peacock blue, teal, magenta) in warmer months and of course I flirt with a lot of other accent colors too. Black skinny ponte trousers, soft patterned pussycat bow blouse with the ends worn loose in a single knot, low pumps or booties, and a black tote. I may throw on a jacket or wear solid jeans (loose skinny or slim straight/boot cut.)</p> <p>Today's interpretation of that formula involved the same black NYDJ ponte skinnies, my burgundy patent pumps with a gold buckle, and my burgundy pussycat bow blouse with bright floral print, one of my workhorses from this year's Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. </p> <p>Lucy wanted to pose by the accessories. </p> <p>I have included a version with a suit jacket for comparison of how I dress this up for a more professional look. </p> <p>Today's scent: Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille. Delicious. </p>
