I think you'll see DARK red a lot. Think Maroon and Merlot.

Pantone has 'sangria' and 'Aurora' reds in their fall 2014 colors:
http://www.pantone.com/pages/f.....;year=2014

I have seen a few nice shirts - Trouvé @ Nordstrom I think - in a red that's sort of in between those shades.

Red usually tends to surface in the fall/winter, in one way or another, at retail level regardless of runway. A few years back red was more of a proper "trend", this year I'm seeing other shades take more precedence. If you're talking retail, it may be a bit early to determine just how much red will pop up but in the next few weeks we should get a better idea. If you're talking runway, the main colors I saw that I jotted down were French blue, plum, and violet. But as Rabbit said, there really was quite a large color variety (which is great!).

I'm hearing about and seeing a fair bit on-line . To me it's nothing new though - seems red pops up as a "new" hit every few seasons or so. I can never get my head around it - never figure out what makeup works and how to dress it without looking like i'm wearing a flight attendant's uniform. It looks too classic, if you know what I mean, and not in a good way. Your colouring appears better suited to it though - so for a completely fashion forward look, I love the look of mixing reds/berries with navy or olive green (multiple shades of reds and berry in one outfit is what I mean). I've had too much coffee, I'll stop now.

Eileen Fisher and Vince Camuto both showed red in their NAS offerings.

I purchased two EF tops, both called tomato, but, really, two different colors. One, which is rayon, is a deep, but true, red. The second, which is a very soft merino, is heathered and has much more orange and brown in it.

The Vince red seemed to be a crimson red, leaning toward cranberry.

I've been trying to figure that out. Aside from seeing plum, dark cranberry/wine, dark violet (cobalt/purple), and espresso brown in NAS picks I don't have a good sense.

The runway collections I've peeked at seem to have quite a bit of color variety. The brights I've seen are orange, cool fuchsia/radiant orchid and mustard yellow. Not a lot of blood red but some orange/red and some muted tomato red.

ETA: 'peeked' not 'peaked' how do I not catch these things before posting :P

Well, I have this pin on one of my boards and it seems red does feature :http://www.pinterest.com/pin/183240278563554642/ I love red, so I'm pleased.

Hi all, wondering if some of the more up-to-date of you have seen anything around color trends for fall. I feel like we are due for some red - I personally was finding red accents feeling a little tired (for me personally - it always looks great when I see it) but now am back on that bandwagon. Anyone in the know on this?
