Anne - The UPS guy is going to hate me. I just ordered the Born Sheenas to try too (and they are on sale) - he's been here two days in a row and now will have to come back again. It's a 7-8 minute journey on a windy, hilly, deer populated road into the neighborhood to make it to our house.

Diana - thanks for sharing - I should really look at oxfords too I guess (at least those with more cushion) and just be sure I know what all is out there. Those Borns are really cute but I think I want a solid color this time. I can't explain exactly why but I feel like there is a certain "lake camp" look I'm after for fall/winter and the snake print seems a little more urban.

I have these snake print Born sneakers, which are very comfy with my orthotics inserted. The leather is very soft. On me, the tan snake is a quasi-nude.

I also have Converse Hi-Nesses in grey, and a bunch of oxfords. I know you said no oxfords, but I just wanted to put out there that my Born Arlettas have super soft leather and feel like sneakers. I don't think they make Arlettas any more but you might be able to find some on ebay. And I think these are similar if you don't mind the multicolor look:

Thanks Suz - I'm leaning towards the darker too but haven't tried them both on yet (just got the darker color today). I'll try to do some pics to compare.

Tex, I slightly prefer the darker ones and think they would pick up the golden and caramel tones in your hair really well. They'd also look great with denim. But the others might be lower contrast. Maybe take some pictures for us?

Anne - thanks for the link. I did look online at those Born shoes as an option too, I think these are fairly similar in style, I may try them as well.

Suz - Glad you think they might pass, I wonder if you have a preference for one color over the other? I worry a little about the sand color looking a bit too frumpy (senior?) I guess.

Claire - thanks for your input, I should have included a link.

Cindy- I did check out your post and like your choices for dark hair.

Marin- I may try those Frye shoes myself but I thought I read a reviewer saying they were stiff and that worried me.

Glory - thanks for sharing. It seems that the general style is actually pretty popular so that's encouraging.

I have the joseph seibel - but not the caspians. They are pretty comfy but not as good as my adidas. Those I can wear for 15 plus hours

Those are cute, I live in leather sneakers in the winter. I am always drawn to a cognac leather shoe, works well with my coloring.

I have been eyeing the Frye Greene Low Lace sneakers for a bit.

Hi TexStyle,

These are a great option. I like the cross between a shoe and sneaker. I also just posted a few photos of sneakers myself. Check out the post titled, Business Travel in Comfort: Sneaker Edition. Good luck finding the right pair for you and your style.

Those pictures don't open up much bigger than their thumbnails, so its hard to see. I like the looks of the chestnut ones if they blend well with the darker tones in your hair. I think they would look good--plenty flattering enough--with jeans, chinos and shorts, and I think that's mostly what you wear.

I can actually see those on you! They look like a good option. I think for your style they would be more than flattering enough. They're cute!

I don't really own shoes. That's a slight exaggeration, but only slight. True "shoe" season is so short here. I just got my first oxfords on sale from Zara and look forward to wearing those. I also have my Cons. Other than that, for casual wear (or dressy wear for the most part) it's booties all the way for me.

I think if I lived in your climate, I'd be in serious despair (or else buying up a lot of summer weight booties) because shoes are so tough for me to fit -- especially flats. They'd need to be lace up to stay on. Which pretty much means oxfords or sneakers.

I can't wait to see these in an outfit.

They've been very comfortable and my go to shoe this summer.

Hi all - I'm shopping for a pair of fall sneakers for everyday kind of wear. Backstory is I saw a young woman wearing a similar pair in soft leather at a cafe recently and I stopped and asked her where she got them. Her's were 5 years old and no longer available from Lands End. But I loved the way the chestnut color worked with her similar blonde toned hair. I want mine to be comfortable without socks or with thin footie socks and I was hoping to bookend my hair. I'm having a hard time as I don't like anything that looks like Converse or has a logo (New Balance, etc.). Most of the options I'm finding veer towards bowling shoe style - I found these UGG Tomi's (two color options) and I'm considering them.

I got the sand color first as I wanted to try both, and they are comfortable. Waiting on the chestnut color now. DH thought they were JFE and had a sort of "I could work at Marine Land vibe."

I don't want a hard leather oxford as they are just too stiff for my liking.

Looking for input - should I keep looking or could these be JFE?

Besides booties or oxfords what do you plan to wear in fall for everyday comfort sort of shoes?

Edit: Adding link for Claire and whoever else:
