The only thing I add to my fall wardrobe in deep winter is a different coat, and maybe heavier boots. Then when it warms up a little in the spring, I wear lighter shoes, and some days - daringly - go without a coat.</p> <p>Today we have an unusually cool day in Chicago, so I am eyeballing some of my fall things, and trying out a new pair of faux leather pants to see what goes with them, and if there are enough possibilities to make it worth keeping them. I’m seeing so much dark/chocolate brown, amber, rust, and what i’m calling creamy brown, these colors have definitely hit the market in all different kinds of brands and price points. Soon!</p> <p>I always get excited about fall shopping, because "my" colors are back on the racks. This year, I've decided to lean into it, realizing that autumn clothing really carries me through all of late autumn, winter, and early spring. Half my year is hot, and the other half never really drops below 40-50° F.</p> <p>I put together a Pinterest board of actual items I'm considering (photo 1) and have already started a little olive capsule (finds) and I'm finding myself really attracted to the honey/amber color that features in the Pinterest board. I also have some essentials to replace. My shopping list so far: </p> <ul> <li>full-length jeans</li> <li>black booties (probably will do a direct replacement of my worn-out ones)</li> <li>long-sleeved black tee</li> <li>1 or 2 silk camis</li> </ul> <p> <div>Possibilities:</div> </p> <ul> <li>statement dress</li> <li>statement accessory</li> <li>statement topper (just for fun and only if the right one comes along)</li> </ul> <p> <div>I could also probably use a new puffer jacket, but that can easily wait until January or February.</p> <p>This feels like a lot, but as I said, I don't do a lot of shopping in winter, and almost none in spring, so this (along with what's in my closet) should see me through the cold season.</p> <p></div> </p>
