My favorites are 1, 2, 7, and 8. Grinning is when you can see the waistband of your pants through your shirt. Wearing a cami the same color as your pants eliminates that. It's something I have to deal with on most tops, sweaters,  and jackets that are in longer styles. Petite sizing very often isn't enough. It's one of the reasons I've avoided asymmetrical tunics. You are right that alteration will be pretty easy. Thanks Angie - I know you pushed me to get a really short denim jacket and I'm so glad I did, and I love that it's the same tone as the blue top so no strong contrast across the waist area. I won't  be wearing these looks for a while...tomorrow we have a "excessive heat warning' meaning the temps plus the humidity will feel like 105F or 40C. On the tops, I was going to mention the same thing about the grinning, or when the under layers show through the top.  I usually use a nude cami pulled down over the waist of my pants to about 2 inches above the top blouse.  I don't like how a darker tank looks showing through in the shoulders. I noticed with these tops I liked the ones that have a shorter hem, with my favorite being the sleeveless top, tucked.  Try a semi tuck with your sweaters too. There's nothing here that I don't like. I have a rough idea but can't remember exactly ...and the navy cami is a good idea with jeans. The shirt IS comfy with a sweater over it because the shirt is kind of a gauzy, soft fabric, not stiff like a classic button-up/button-down shirt. I might end up fussing with the collar, though. Yeah that print top WILL look good with a topper. Do you think the length is ok on #3? The length on #5 looks better to me. 6,7 is the Eileen Fisher find, a long sleeved T. The blue sweater I wore over the shirt is a heavier wool sweater from last year that is almost the same color. Hah - I put too many pics into this posting and it's hard to tell the diff 8 is a red long sleeved tshirt (like the blue one) with a black cocoon sweater, 9 is a grey sweater over black pants, 10 is a long sleeved  black t. Interesting comment on #12, you know I kind of agree with you, I bought it because I love that color but I agree the shape isn't quite as good. I was thinking of returning it.... Is the sweater in 2 a similar light blue? 8/9/10 - this looks like a great basic. If it were my closet this color would be a workhorse. It creates a nice column of color with the darker pants 12 - this is my least favorite.  I don't think the shape or color is as flattering on you as the others. I've been looking for good quality basic pieces that fit well, look current, and can be worn a lot of ways. I really like all of them, and everything will go with a LOT of stuff I already have! (Will think about jeans and coats later) Would love to hear your feedback, as always.    (trying a few tucked) ----------------------------- 1 cotton shirt. The ribbed pattern is more obvious IRL and it's a little bit sheer so I would add a cami. 2 same shirt with light blue wool sweater (for winter) and black bottom....like Angie's pastel/black blog posting yesterday NYDJ top. The shoulders and neckline fit well on this size but it's a little long...I think I look taller if the legline is as long as possible 3 as-is 4 tucked 5 scrunching up to simulate shortening about 2" 6 EF jersey/tunic light blue 7 .....with denim jacket 8 same tunic in red with grey sweater not sure I want to keep both colors, kind of prefer the light blue. 9 grey cashmere sweater/tunic, styled with scarf and booties. This may be a little too plain/basic..  10 Black long sleeved top in a fairly thick jersey knit...has a lace back 11 .... ..also tucked 12 Cotton pullover, mine is a slightly warmer color than shown in the find. The grey sweater with lace sleeves did not work. The sleeves do not stretch and were so tight that I could not fully bend my arm It was a petite size. A larger size would be too long in the torso, this one is just a little long already.
