Cheryl:  You have a great feel for super casual looks --- and Lord knows I have more opportunity to wear this hoodie than my gowns!  Besides I love the little red moose! Ornella:  I striped top is just a bit more blue -- toward the purple, than the blazer, so I doubt they'll work together.  I'll give it a whirl, since tonal, rather than high contrast stripes, sounds really fresh to me! I love the skirt so much, what a great idea to have cable on skirts, I've never seen that before. The blazer looks terrific, cut, fit and the colour and I see a workhorse in the making. Have you tried it with the bold striped top? I loved reading "I sized down, because I wanted a real shoulder line". In the times of oversized-love which expanded my personal views on what fits I love and want to wear, it's a great reminder that trend or no trend in the end we buy what we love to wear and fits that we personally feel great in. Thanks, Marley, for the thumbs up.  Finding the right fit and proportions takes some hunting, for sure, particularly when I want something fluid, but not super oversized.  Dee:  I love cables, as long as they don't stretch out or add bulk.  This fabric, while it's a "blend" won't lose its shape and makes me happy! Laura:  I remember the CC version!  I thought the Kohls fabrics were pretty good -- not like the Rag and Bone, of course, but far better than "legging" fabric.  The length is a real plus, as is the slim straight silhouette, which is much more flattering on me.  Just be prepared to try each color on -- I'd choose one size up in the dark wash indigo. Suz, these are more replacements than new items.  I'm not in one in/one out, but I'm working on avoiding the "curse of the sevens." (post to come soon).   I have two ponte skirts (a grey/black animal print and a red) on their last legs.  My black skinnies are looking sad and, well, not really black.  Knits, of course, are always short lived, and I'm craving fluid fits with the right body/weight of knit to avoid cling.  The jacket?  Well, ponte jackets with unlined sleeves are a perennial favorite, as are deep jewel tones.  I'll wear this a lot for teaching a home, styled casually.  I can wear pants and a sweater or sweatshirt earlier in the day, then switch out to the blazer before I teach my private students --- just adding that bit of polish.  I've also had boyfriend style jackets on my list for fall -- I'd also like one in tweed (but not ponte, of course).  Anonymous on "Fall Finds" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/fall-finds#post-1352635 Thu, 11 Sep 2014 02:47:35 +0000 Anonymous 1352635@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ You found some great fall refreshers. I'd never had one until this year, either, but got one in Banff (well, a tee). So, high five!  The pencil skirt is fantastic on you, as all pencil skirts are. Will you need a slip with hose, or will it be okay without?  The red jacket looks like a great addition for you. Beautiful cranberry. I like it a lot in #4.  Pants look good, too! P.S.  I'm still vacation-lagged and have plunged straight into teaching.  I look rather rough here -- no makeup, hair bedraggled and in deep need of a good cut.  These photos are just the bare bones of styling --- I'll wait for cooler temps to wear these items! Pic 1:  OK, so you can't find this one in the stores, unless you travel to Colter Bay in Grand Teton National Park!  My family loves lots of logo wear, but I'm not a t-shirt and sweatshirt kind of gal.  Still, the Tetons are dear to my heart, and this was cozy.  It has a hood, and the front is appliqued material.  That red spot?  It's a moose (and I did see moose on my trip, but no bulls).  This will be upscale lounge wear. Pic 2:  New striped tee:  Croft and Barrow, at Kohls.  This has a nice weight -- more like a rugby shirt.  I sized down, because I wanted a real shoulder line.  It is very generous in the mid section.  Comes in grey and navy, too. Pics 3/4:  Red blazer from Target and "knit" black jeans from Sonoma at Kohls.  The first pic is a more accurate view of the dark, blue tinged red.  It is a lovely weight ponte, with unlined sleeves and a back vent, in a longer length and a noe-button closure.  Generous in the bust, upper arm and upper back.  TTS in the mid section and high hip.  The jeans come in 3 shades of blue, too, with some washes more stylish than others, and all washes fitting slightly differently.  The best news -- they run long.  I have almost too much scrunch here.  They also have pockets and a real fly, and a weight that is flattering.  My black skinnies needed replacing! 5.  Cabled grey pencil skirt from Mossimo at Target.  Great weight and length.  I'll wear this with boots in winter.  I like it best with longer, looser tops.  It's generous in the waist, TTS in the buthigh.
