I have been a fan of Cetaphil for decades. I have tried other cleansers, and Cetaphil for sensitive skin works best for me. I also use Clinique take the day off. I am sure I have the most sensitive skin on the planet.

I’m a fan of Cetaphil and Clinique. The Clinique cleanser is great for rosacea and Cetaphil is a gentle wash.

I didn't realize CeraVe had changed their formula; that's good to know. I'm using up an old "value sized" bottle of the hydrating cleanser and will have to make sure not to reorder until I've sampled the new version.

Kellygirl -- a lot of cleansers formulated for sensitive skin don't foam because common foaming agents (sulfates) are a skin irritant for many people.

My skincare and makeup routine has not changed much over the years, but I have added a mascara primer. I was never concerned with my lashes but heard that the primer makes it easier to remove the mascara. And yes, it really does!!!! I am a convert.

I am a big fan of Lisa Eldridge and am eager to try one of her lipsticks. The one I want, Velvet Affair, is always sold out. One day I will be quick enough to order it when it is restocked.

Oh, great info - thanks! Might have to try that Neutrogena anti-wrinkle product - funny enough, I don't care so much about my face but am getting a bit paranoid about my neck and decolletage.

Another great BB cream is the Boujois one - I love it - just enough coverage to smooth everything out without being heavy or greasy. I may check out the Maybelline one when it's empty though; thx Jenn and cat2.

Seconding cat2's recommendation of the Maybelline Dream BB cream. It's really good, especially for the price. I used it for years but have been searching for a replacement with a mineral-based sunscreen since I spend more time at the ocean now. I'm quite liking the Supergoop! CC Screen, which comes in like 15 colors.

If you want another BB cream, I really like the Maybelline Dream BB cream. I would not try the foundation, though, it’s really heavy.

I'll definitely check out the Vanicream. I've only used CeraVe for the last several years--the foaming facial wash. It seems to remove makeup reasonably well. I tried the hydrating cleanser but didn't really like how it didn't foam--kind of like Cetaphil. I may try it one more time--think it's still under the sink in case of emergency.
Still using the Ordinary Buffet after I wash my face but notice if I use it every day, it feels a little drying so I alternate with some vitamin C lotion.
As far as makeup goes, I feel like I'm using less and less. Still playing with the Jones Road makeup which I'm really enjoying. I bought the starter kit with the tawny balm which works well for when I'm a little tanner. I recently bought the pinkish one that has been out of stock for awhile along with another kit to try out the brown pencil and the sparkle wash and cream shadow. The pencils are great--prompting me to toss my UD one which is just a mess to sharpen. The cream shadows are nice--just a wash of very sheer color to which I add liner and mascara and voila, done! A bit of balm to my cheeks and I'm good to go.

A tip from my doctor...if something makes your skin break out in a in a rash
.like latex, spray the area first with Flonase nasal spray and let it dry. It helps the itching and swelling. Thank you for your reviews.. they give me ideas of what to try next. It takes me on average, a year, to get seriously sensitive to most skin products. Then I have to change to something else until it becomes too uncomfortable.

Funny, I've tried the Vanicream too after looking for something to replace the old CeraVe. I just don't like the new CeraVe formula...I'm not allergic to it but it left my face with a rough texture, plus it smells worse than the original. As far as the Vanicream, I think I'm okay with it but found it to still be a little drying. So...blast from the ancient past...I've recently started a trial of Cetaphil. And I love it! No dryness or irritation at all, and it removes foundation makeup better than the original CeraVe did. I don't know why it took me so long to consider Cetaphil. Probably the mindset that newer is better. So far...apparently not always!

Vanicream gentle facial cleanser (Walgreens?) – I bought this earlier this year but finally used up the last of my old-formulation CeraVe hydrating cleanser. I like it; it’s more gel-like than the CeraVe but seems to be gentle with no skin reaction. It does sting when I accidentally got it in my eyes, more than the CeraVe did anyway, so it wouldn’t be great if you wore a ton of eye makeup and used it alone to cleanse.

Body Shop Vitamin E eye cream (Ulta) – picked this up because of a buy 2 get 3rd free sale at Ulta. It’s fine, a reasonably emollient eye cream that doesn’t sting. Probably will use up but not rebuy.

Kiehl’s Line-reducing concentrate – this is a vitamin C product that I got when Nordstrom had a sale on Kiehl’s. I’ve never had good luck with vitamin C serums but this is more of a lotion. It doesn’t sting or cause bad reactions and it does seem to make my skin smoother. The jury’s still out on the line reducing and texture improving claims. You do have to use a fair bit and it’s pretty pricey per ounce.

Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair regenerating cream, fragrance-free (Target) – I *think* I’ve used this before a few years ago. After the major disappointment that I had with the Olay Regenerist Retinol24 cream, I wanted to pick something that would work. I’ve been using it every other day at night and it seems to improve texture without irritation. I do try to avoid the edges of my lips and near my eyes because it can sting there. It’s not going to compare to a prescription-strength product but it seems decent.

Rusk Wired styling cream (Ulta) – this reminds me a lot of the old formulation of the Alterna CC cream and I’ve been using it similarly, putting it in my hair after washing and either letting it air dry or blow drying it. It seems to help with frizzies and a little bit of hold. I was trying to use up a container of Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie but I think that even mixed with gel it’s too heavy for my hair and leaves it weighed down and greasy. I’ve given up on a strict Curly Girl regime in my climate; I got decent waves 20% of the time and the rest of the time my hair looked like a mess. At least with a few silicones involved my hair may be less wavy but it looks more polished.

L’oreal Age Perfect radiant serum foundation (15 Rose Ivory; Target online) – This and the two foundations below are all recs from Jessica Braun on YouTube. This one isn’t a great color match for me – despite the name rose ivory doesn’t have much pink to it and is too brown/orange. I really like the look of the formulation and it has SPF 50 in it, so it could serve as an all-in-one option similar to the IT cosmetics CC cream (which lots of people love but which breaks me out like crazy).

Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless 2 in 1 foundation (205 ivory; Walmart?) – this is a good color match for me. It looks better applied with a brush or sponge and has a very silicone-y feel, which I don’t love. It’s a bit too greasy looking on me without powder afterwards, but it is very moisturizing.

Covergirl Clean Fresh skin milk foundation (530 fair/light; Ulta) – despite the name this is more of a tinted moisturizer than a foundation. It’s quick to put on with your fingers and gives a bit of coverage and smoothing out. It doesn’t last forever but it’s a nice quick option.
