More fab advice! I'm going to try:

- Eddie Bauer
- Jones New York
- Costco (if they have any in stock)
- Banana Republic

One of those should work - I hope!

I am a fan of the EB non-iron shirts. They wear very, very well. I have some that are at least three years old and still look almost brand-new. Very good quality, imo for the price, especially if you can grab some on sale. Go to the back sale area and see if there aren't some of these shirts. At this time of year, it might be more 'spring/summer' colours on sale, but I consider french blue or white a year-round colour, even if they've been shifted to the sale rack in favour of fall's burgundy, teal, grey or what have you.

Also like the shirts at Costco, as per CocoLion - but they don't always have them in stock. We'll see what they come out with for fall.

I think the Eddie Bauer shirts are fabulous, they do shirts well! Give them a whirl.

Shannon, I like my BR non-iron shirt, but did find that I needed to size up so it wasn't too clingy around my tummy. Just an FYI!

Ann Taylor also has petites and crisp shirts; no free S/H unless they have a special. Neither AT nor BR fitted shirts give me a fit, but we have very different body types so YMMV. Got a great fit from the BR linen shirt, tho'! BTW, I find that finding a comfy fitted shirt that actually fits is as much of a challenge as finding pants that fit well. (BB did not work for me.)

Have you tried Talbots? They also carry petite, and some of their shirts have a bit of spandex in the cotton.

Also, Ann Taylor used to have button downs with a hint of spandex in as well.

Yes Shannon, I recently got an Eddie Bauer *wrinkle resistant* button front shirt and I love it. It's soft and it stays fresh looking all day. Not quite as nice as my BB one, but a very good lower priced substitute (and I found it at Goodwill).Mine is 3/4 sleeves and the classic fit, which it not super-slim tailored. Funny thing, I've worn it two or three times and I've gotten compliments on it each time. A plain white shirt. Go figure. I think it's because it is the exact opposite of what folks wear around here!

I LOVE the Eddie Bauer non-iron shirts. The fit is vastly improved and they are available in a variety of colors and prints, with both long sleeves and 3/4 sleeve options. They're at a good price point and have a terrific return policy.

Do you have a source for Foxcroft shirts? I like them quite well. I get mine from Nordstrom Rack (so assume Nordstrom proper has them) and Sierra Trading company. I'm sure they are available elsewhere.

Check out Lands End too. They often have free shipping and their returns go to a warehouse near Toronto. They have petites too! I bought one of their no iron shirts in the spring and found it to be good quality and true to size, not skimpy at all.

Good luck with your shirt hunting! I really wish i had a BR store around. The best fitting shirt I've ever bought is a BR pinstriped one, fitted, non-iron in petite. I'm not able to find petite sizes in Norway, at least not at a similar prize point.

Ooooh Suz - I didn't even think of BR. I keep forgetting we have one now so can actually go and try on in the store. Thank you my dear! (of course we have Eddie Bauer too so can try those on as well).

JR - fitted shirts definitely aren't for everyone but I bought my first one last year (Brooks Brothers) and love the crispness of it so think these are definitely part of my style.

I know for me personally, fitted blouses don't work well. I don't have enough waist, so they grip too firmly there and then ride up, creating a bag across the back of the shoulders. *sigh* So I look for straight-cut blouses (darts at the chest are fine, but no princess lines) and/or stretch ones for the most part. There are still a couple of fitted blouses in my closet, but I will probably avoid getting new ones in the future. YMMV.

I don't love the way a lot of non-iron shirts feel but EB makes a decent product and has an excellent return policy. I'm not sure if they've improved the fit to be more tailored but in the past that was my main complaint. I'd say to try one and see for sure.

Last night while hubby and MIL were out and teenage son was off with his friends, I went through my entire fall/winter wardrobe. I am totally EXCITED to get into these fall clothes! I love everything I bought through NAS, plus the addition of my black leather jacket from Danier, pumpkin orange skirt from Winners, abstract print dress from Calvin Klein, two-tone blue wrap dress from BCBG and even my taupe skirt from Cleo. Plus I have pieces from last year that I still like and will continue to wear (Esprit trousers and my blazers in particular).

And of course, who isn't looking forward to wearing their boots/booties???

What I did discover through my review though is a distinct lack of tops. I'm kind of off knits these days so would be looking for blouses that can be both tucked and untucked and perhaps two more crisp button down shirts.

Has anyone tried the Eddie Bauer non-iron fitted women's button down shirts? As much as I love Rocky (my Brooks Brothers shirt) they are pricey and their delivery fees are astronomical to Canada. Just looking for another option.
