				<description>&#060;p&#062;I think you are correct in calling it brocade. It might be an embroidered silk, but that stiffness you mentioned is a key characteristic of brocade. It always looks a little medieval (and gorgeous!) to me.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;One thing I love is the fashions from music from the 50s and 60s--especially Motown, pop and R and B. There was a certain fabric on some of these dresses, and I am wondering if anyone knows what it is. Sort of brocade-like--annoyingly stiff. Very beautiful clothes, but a pain to get into. You find it in thrift stores sometimes.&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
