I know exactly what you mean, although mine is a disk and nerve issue, not fibromyalgia I don't think. But anything that presses on my lower back really aggravates it and other places as well. Skinny jeans, skinny anything, just not going to happen in my world.

Also I have majorly damaged feet from other injuries, that the board has heard about ad nauseum, so I have very few shoe options and most of the time just wear Brooks. I know they ruin my look, but hey, walking matters too!

Anyway, a few days ago I posted some super great pants and the consensus was that they did not look horribly pajama-esque and I could get away with wearing them in public. Here is the thread, I did link the pants further down.

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....uch-volume

How I cope is to just do the best I can. I envy those who can wear what they think is pretty and not have to factor in what their health can tolerate. But that's not me, and I just try to look the best I can within the given limits.

I was having a foot problem that required a high toe box. I also need clothing that lets me take an insulin shot... Dresses are really difficult (I pounce on any and all two-piece dresses and - I'd forgotten - i was gonna hurry up and take advantage of the cutouts dress trend). When I had hernia surgery, I had to have clothes that didn't rub the stitches and that we're easy to put on.

...boy, I'm a mess!

I have super sensitive skin. Dry cleaning chemicals bother it, so I try to avoid dry clean only garments. Most wool bothers me, as does most acrylic. Cotton and silk and my best friends.

My skin is actually quite sensitive in certain areas, especially around my elbows, so I have to make sure there isn't any wool in my cardigans and I usually scrunch past my elbow so nothing really bugs them too much.

I have a bad back with slight curvature of the spine. Since my back gets tired quite easily, I often have bad posture. I've realized that wearing horizontal stripes, which I love, is not a good idea because it emphasizes the curvature. Somehow vertical stripes don't have the same effect.

I have fibromyalgia and it causes unique shopping challenges because fabric as we'll fit can be a challenge. If there isn't give or softness in the fabric it can be painful. If the waist rubs the against nerves in my lower back it screams at me. Do any of you have health issues that cause unique fit challenges and how do you meet them. What is you favorite find?
