I bat for team floral, team cardigan, team classic but unfortunately also for team frumpy. I am an apple with strong IT tendencies, here is something that I wear that is very similar. Unless it's not all that expensive and you want to experiment some with different patterns, etc. The colors are pretty so I can see your attraction. If you wore it with jeans tucked into boots for example, I don't think that would be frumpy. I think it would need to have some "edge" in the outfit for it to work in a modern way.
