Thanks, I'm hoping they will be both fun and very wearable.
The unexpectedness makes one want to take care with random "noshing" purchases so as to take advantage of something that wasn't really on the list.

Bat sweater is awesome! I've gotten used to the idea of leather panels on knits... albeit, I'm not quite there yet with boots with stretchy panels.

Gorgeous finds, UF! So glad you picked them both up. The sweater would be great with a statement necklace and dressy trousers for a casual holiday party!

I think you should keep both pieces! They are so cool and unusual, while still keeping some classic elements. They both look sophisticated and a little edgy to me. I love the detail on the leather, and I like the combination of leather and knit. It seems more current, wearable, and flattering than a full leather skirt. And you won't stick to plastic chairs as easily--ha ha ha! (How's that for really reaching for more reasons to keep it?) The sweater is really flattering on you, too.

Thank you for the comments!
I had not planned to start my fall wardrobe review yet, but a few NAS items and these items , plus all the recent post on closet- cleaning and culling, got me in the frame of mind to focus on what I like wearing and what needs to exit the building.

Susie, I hear you on that. I did ponder the acrylic, but since it's a slightly open weave, I'll be wearing a matching color cotton layer under (there's plenty of room!). This is something I would not have shopped intentionally for, but it clicks with several skirts and pants, so went with it.

I think both are really nice finds. I love oversized tops so the sweater isn't weird to me at all! I do, however, really try to avoid acrylic. But if the fabrication doesn't bother you then I would keep it.

The skirt is very cool! I actually really like the mix of leather and ponte; it sounds very interesting and the finish just adds to the interest.

Gracie, thanks, I think so, too--as a lot of leather shirts have knit backs. So for me it's probably more wearable and fits better with the knit combo.

Both pieces look like great finds! Bonus that they are comfortable, and, they look good together. I really like the texture on the front of your skirt. I don't think it's odd that the back is a different fabrication, it's probably providing more comfort and stretch for sitting, etc.

Stopped in a local boutique that has a weird array of items,
from too young to too frumpy, but has some brands not found in other stores, so
I go a couple times year to break out of the AT satellite orbit.

On the 70% off rack I stumbled across this skirt. Front is brown (kind of brown + black)
leather and back is black ponte knit. It’s a maker I was not familiar with—Donna Degnan.

I’m kind of in love. So many boxes ticked—the fit is a good skimming, not overly- tapered pencil. Length is mid-knee,
amazingly not too short. Leather color is what cinches—I’d likely not wear a
black leather skirt (except for fun) but the brown is softer, and also it’s
this kind of crackle finish, which I think gives it another notch of approachability
and also maybe more forgiving of minor wear and tear.

Also in back is this cool zipper to adjust the vent, though
I probably will not utilize its full extent!

What say the fabbers? Do you think its being leather only on
the front half is weird or cheap? It’s not going to be a weekly skirt, but it
seems classic and, I hope, tasteful, while being fun.

Then, the other item I found there is this oversized drapey pullover. I had
sworn I was not going to get any super-sized or unusual sweaters—just boxy or
fluid—but here it was. This is the "low" to the above "high"—it’s an acrylic knit.. Again what sold me are the particulars—it has
an asymmetrical drape instead of a horizontal line, and folds in on itself well, and is just long enough in
front (many are too cropped for my long torso). I think it’s an inexpensive way to have fun with
the trend, whereas I was not drawn to invest in a cashmere version.

1-4 Donna Degnan leather front skirt .

5-7--The Bat sweater.

These are kind of dark photos for dark colors. Comments and styling suggestions welcome!
