I love the Love 21 line. If I get this job I might have to go crazy there. They have some cute stuff!

Shiny, that top is pretty super. I'm not a MOTG but I think it would work well for me.

The top looks very pretty! I hope that you will include this in your pics for the week.

I have been in F21 a couple of times now looking at jewelry but have yet to try any of the clothes. They certainly are cheap! And at these prices, probably a great way to incorporate trendy pieces into your wardrobe. Last time I was there, I saw lots of funky banded tops. I also noticed that they had skinny jeans for $12.50 (and the rise was not that low - maybe 9")! If I ever find knee high boots that work, I might grab a pair of these to try the boots & skinnies look.

Oh, and apparently they have come out with a new line called Love 21 (they call it their contemporary line) that is supposed to target a slightly older demographic. It's still very inexpensive.

Thanks Shiny. We don't have a Delia's locally, but I have sene their website. We have American Eagle and Aeropostale- the 00's that fit her were from one of those stores. Her cami's from F21 are a small (xs was too tight), and she can fit into the 0P at Banana Republic. We had gotten her shorts with the adjustable waist from the kids section before it really got hot, and now we have had to cinch them all in. They are way too baggy except in the waist, so maybe a slim would fit.

do try the top. it only makes the bust look big if its tight & clingy across the breasts. if it drapes and has a little ease it will look fine.

your pictures are always good so if you try it i hope you post some pics.

If she can wear a size 00 I am guessing she'll fit in the ON slims. I'm 5'0" (3 inches taller) and I can fit in the size 14 regular child size clothing (or at least, I could before they came out with petites - they may have adjusted their sizing at that point). This was my trick for basic things like jean jackets and pants. The size 16's would be way too long all over, the size 14's would be the perfect length. But of course I'm much heavier than 84 lbs... that's why I'm thinking your DD would need the Slim's instead. Make sense? I would guess a size 14 regular is akin to a size 0p and a size 14 slim is akin to a size 00p.

There's also Delia's. Do you have that store? My girls adore that store. It's junior wear.

I'll ping my sister for you right now...

Shiny- Old Navy is where we ended up finding the one suit that did fit. It's a women's XS. I don't think that the one near us carried the slims- or I haven't seen them anyway. I will have to check when we go. Although, I don't know if a slim will fit her- before she lost weight she was wearing plus sized pants. Recently, she tried on a 00 at a junior store, and that did fit her waist.
That was my thinking with the tankini- that it would still fit if she grew, but considering that she may grow several more inches before it's time to put the suit away (probably not until October), I wanted it on the long side to start with. If you remember to ask about your niece I'd love to know.

Chewy, that's the beauty of tankinis for kids: as they grow, the suit still fits - so it's perfectly acceptable to have her midsection showing in a tankini, although I guess you'd want to start out the summer with it longer.

Have you tried Old Navy for her? They make a "slim" size in children's that may work for her. Try the 14S? Otherwise I could ask my sister where my niece shops; it sounds like they have similar fit issues and are about the same age!

They are the perfect weight for layering. We actually have a Wet Seal at the mall. I've never been in it (well, since I was a teen), but I guess it's time to venture in with dd. She needs the adjustable straps or they don't fit her. She is right in between childrens and junior sizes right now- it's really a pain finding her clothes that fit. We tried on about 100 bathing suits before we found one that fit her. I couldn't believe it. She's about 4 foot 9 and weighs about 84 pounds- that doesn't seem like an unusual size for a 10 year old, but she has a long body. Anything that fit her around was way too short. We tried mostly tan kinis becasue I figured that two pieces were easier to fit than one, but when the top ends abover your belly button it looks funny.

Chewy, we're planning on wearing the camis as layering pieces only. My only white camis have so much spandex in them, they simply aren't comfortable for wearing in the summer. I sweat to death in them! No breathability at all (but awesome gut suckage & control).

Wet Seal also had camis on sale - 3 for $12 - in a multitude of bright colors and with adjustable straps (except for the white version, it didn't adjust, for some odd reason). Yeah, we hit that store too... DD14 got flip-flops to replace the pair that broke today and DD16 got some funky sequined sneaks.

I bought some cami's at F21 for dd. The price is great, but they are pretty thin. She wears them as a top (rather than for layering), and I cringe when she does. Honestly though, I am lucky to get that girl to wear clothes at all. She's always hot, and something always itches/scratches/pokes, etc. I like that top, but I don't think that I fit into their sizes yet.

Tarzy, I do think this will work quite well for a larger bust than even my own. DD14 is now a little bigger than me (solidly a C cup) and she looks amazing in it. There seems to be a lot of room to accommodate a larger chest than a C as well (or that could be because I'm so short... I got the small).

DD14 is wearing hers today with white denim walk shorts. She is also on the hunt for ballet flats, which we didn't find, so she's in flip flops. But I had to chuckle because she is going after a 100% YLF approved look, without realizing it.

Meanwhile yesterday DD16 wore a knee-length BCBG dress I handed down to her, since I can no longer fit in it. She also looked 100% YLF approved. At school her boyfriend raved about the dress so she was on the hunt for more.

Both still also bought teenager type outfits too (endless tank tops... they both live in layered tanks)... but I just thought it was cute that they are also gravitating towards more polished, modest looks as well!

I love that top; it looks very very flattering and has awesome draping.
Tarzy- I don't think it would accentuate the bust; I'm a 32dd or 32e and the similar tops I own minimize my bust, if anything. The v-neck neckline generally slims the chest.

I love that style of top -- definitely good for de-emphasizing certain parts of the body Oh, the product description mentions that the top is mostly rayon -- you could probably handwash it.

Took my DD's shopping last night for summer clothes at Forever 21. We made out good.

I picked up two items for myself:

1) Basic white cotton cami - only $3.50!

2) This top - only $9.50!

http://www.forever21.com/produ.....038;Page=1

I can't vouch for quality and how it will hold up in the wash (oh, just noticed it's listed as dry clean only?? hmmm - it feels just like cotton). This top is just so cute. My DD's each got one too. DD14 and I are sporting purple today; DD16 bought one in pink. It looked good on all three of us. Works if you are busty or not so busty, hourglass or pear or rectangle. Disguises troublesome tummy area beautifully. I got the small which hits me at tunic length. DD's are a few inches taller than me, so theirs runs a bit shorter, but looks great over clams.
