I'm currently using Clinique super defense SPF 20 eyecream in the morning, it has a bit of a tint so helps conceal dark circles and of course SPF to protect against sun damage, there aren't many SPF eye creams about.
At night I'm using Kimberly Sayers eye lift gel, it says it "leaves skin soft and smooth, minimises puffiness and dark circles" I can vouch for the soft and smooth but I don't really suffer with puffiness and my dark circles are helped by the regular patting in of eye cream anyway.
I've only been using these 2 for a week but I've had no adverse reactions and I do have very sensitive eyes but I didn't expect any reactions as I've successfully used products from both of these companies before x

abc -- I have heard that some people's skin goes bonkers with Retin-A. Frankly, I was surprised mine didn't. My skin can react to some creams, and benzoyl peroxide will indeed make it flake and peel. But I had both fine lines and occasional breakouts (still! That whole thing about acne clearing up after puberty is a lie, lol), and Retin-A is said to improve both. (It does). In Canada, you have to get a script from the doctor, but I have indeed heard that in Mexico it's OTC. Mine is just the generic tretinoin. I started on the lowest dose (0.025%) and applied it sparingly. After a few months I could slather it everywhere with no problem, so eventually I switched to 0.05% and I'm back to applying a small amount. One in a while I get a slight burning sensation (very slight), and if that happens I'll skip a day. It has never caused a crazy breakout or sunburn-type experience with me, though. My skin is consistently brighter and fresher-looking.

I guess the only way you can find out is to try!

I might be in the minority, but I had a hard time tolerating RetinA creams. I've done a couple different ones and really spread it out over days (ie every other day, every third day, every 4th day, once a week) and still reacted poorly. I have super sensitive skin as well. I don't think there's a magic cream out there (but would love to find it). Something moisturizing and gentle is best for someone like me. I've tried lots. I keep coming back to Caudalie la premier cru. I don't think it works miracles. I still have puffy eyes. But it makes them feel good. I like the touch of mica it has in it, so during the day there's a tiny bit of reflective property there - I think. I also swear by YSL touche eclat. I cannot live without it. That is, by far, the best thing out there for undereyes/highlighting, IMO. But I'm not a makeup guru at all. Just a super sensitive gal.

ETA - I remember seeing the retinA creams in the pharmacias in Mexico - same ones I had here (I'm in Canada). There are different % formulations so if you try it, start with the weakest.

LOL! We are all outing ourselves with the Retin-A. I use Retin-A too. Having wrinkles and breakouts at the same time (which I did) is the worst! And I have sensitive, easily irritated skin. Delicate flower skin. I did have to do some very serious, very slow ramping up on the Retin-A and I only use the lowest dose. It isn't something to jump into lightly.

How about a baby step instead of a huge leap? You might try a good retinol product first instead of Retin-A. If you can't tolerate retinol, you won't be able to use Retin-A very easily. And I say that as a die-hard Retin-A lover. FWIW, I find the Paula's Choice products shockingly good and affordable. I'm usually a complete prestige cosmetics devotee and when I tried Paula's Choice products on a "oh what the heck" lark, I was shocked by how much I loved them. So, that might be a good place to start. I use the Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with Retinol. (Yup. You read it right. I double down with the retinoids.)

FWIW, for eye cream, since that's what you specifically asked about, I use Aveda's eye cream. It is reasonably affordable, reasonably luxurious, it smells decent, and it doesn't burn my sensitive sensitive skin. (The sensitive sensitive skin that I subject to Retin-A.) Honestly, though, I'm not sold on eye creams as a concept. Eye creams can only hydrate what is there and maybe deposit some retinol. They aren't going to work any better than a good sensitive skin lotion or cream that works for the rest of your face. Plus you don't want them to be too rich or they will cause clogged pores and milia.

abc, I hear you on the benzoyl peroxide. I used a commercial prep once, well-known name, and literally had blistered burn marks on face; was horrified and embarrassed to be seen, both.
But have used retinoid products with no similar reaction except pacing use, use lower strengths, skip days if skin irritation. So it seems much more manageable and predictable.

The generic of Retin-A is tretinoin. I'm sure you can get it OTC in Mexico. Usually it has a cream formulation and a gel formulation, and the cream is milder feeling. You don't use a lot, and you need to wear sunscreen. I don't find it particularly harsh but I have been using it for years.

Thanks UL and AZ! One question though, is retin-A strong? I have it in my head that it will burn my skin off. Not sure where I got that association. My skin is sensitive and delicate. Once a dermatologist prescribed me benzoyl peroxide wipes and the first time I used one (stupidly all over my face) it literally turned me bright red for days. It was like a bad sunburn or something. That experience coupled with knowing my skin is sensitive to begin with make me hesitate. I suppose it's worth looking into though. Do you recommend a certain brand or is it only Rx? I feel like I have read or heard you can get these products OTC here in Mexico. I may need to look into it. Also I noticed some anti aging products at Costco but didn't even pay attention at the time. Thanks for weighing in.

I second the motion for prescription Retin-A. It's the only cream I've ever used that seems to make a difference. You can't put it directly under your eyes, though.

There is no eye cream that will make the fine lines under your eyes go away, but lots of them feel lovely and refreshing to put on. I have no recommendations, though, because I find that they're all the same.

I'm a fan of prescription Retin-A for the fine lines. I also recommend Fresh Cosmetics Lotus under eye gel (which is supposed to address the dark circles), and their Rose eye cream (for moisture).
