I was very thin and could roll a long skirt 4 or 5 times at the waist to make it a mini. If it seemed too short, like for a morning of student teaching, I'd do a quick unrolling. Once I see something I want to change, it's hard to wait!</p> <p>I think taking pockets off was the biggest thing I've ever done, although I've taken down hems before too. I have access to a sewing kit and a lot of privacy, although I limit my alterations to lunch or breaks. What extreme makeovers have you done in unusual places? </p>
