Thanks for the info CF - I probably won't be pursuing the skirt as it's not part of my budget but will keep this in mind for future reference.

I went into Express for the first time yesterday on YLF recommendation - I'd always thought of it as too young for me and frankly a bit tacky. I tried on a ton of pants and skirts and ordered some stuff to be sent to me; I was surprised at how good the quality was for the price and at how well stuff fit me.

The SA told me they get complaints about that cotton sateen fabric - apparently it fades and stretches. But, this was about pants in the same fabric. She recommended anything but the cotton. So I basically tried on every non-mini except for the one you want.

In pants there I'm a 2, same as Ann Taylor. I ordered a 4 in the high-waisted pencil - the 2 was comfortable and looked good, but I thought it made me look a little too Joan Holloway for work. The editor pants and all the skirts I tried seem to be cut for a fairly hourglass body - I often need waists taken in, but these were good.

Mm. I have one of their cotton spandex skirts. I think it's pretty true to size, but the cotton spandex aspect makes it "clingy" - needs a slip.

I wish I could help about the sizing. The jackets I ordered seemed very true to size but I haven't tried any of the skirts!

Pretty skirt!

The quality varies, but for the tailored pieces it tends to be pretty good. Lately, I have found their skirts to run pretty large. I wear 0/2 in their pants and would usually need 00 in skirts when trying them on (not that I ended up buying any).

I'm looking for a Kelly/Emerald green pencil skirt and have looked in brick & mortar stores for the last couple of days in my home town with no luck.

I found this one on Express (in the green) but I've never ordered from them. What is their quality and sizing like?
