Along with making you look more pulled together, you'll find your shoes and accessories to be a lot more versatile. Cognac is my all-time favorite bookend color, but I've also had good luck with taupe and gray, perhaps because the contrast sort of matches the level of contrast between my skin tone and hair color.&nbsp;</p> <p>But seriously, cognac. I do that with black in a pattern, or my black specs, or a black bag.&nbsp;</p> <p>One frustrating issue is that as someone with lighter hair I find it difficult to bookend with that&nbsp;in the winter. That's because most bottoms and hose are dark. Yes, I have a white pair of jeans I can wear in winter...but quite honestly, I walk a lot -- and conditions don't really favour light pants. Yes, I could wear nude hose and a skirt...but that wouldn't keep me warm, either.
