I appreciate the suggestions about taking photos. I definitely need to check my phone to see if there's a timer on the camera--I don't remember seeing that option, but it's entirely possible I've just overlooked it. While I don't have a camera other than my phone (which takes lovely photos in the proper light) or a tripod, I have been thinking about other places in my apartment where I could move my mirror when I'm taking photos where the light *might* be better. So I try to use my tripod and the DSLR when I can. Only problem is, my daughter often has it, which means no photos. It is possible to lighten the photos up some, though -- which I do before posting. I've recently started putting my phone on a shelf with the camera timer set to 10 seconds, and I figured out where to stand to get a good shot most times. My mirror was in an awkward place. I came up with some different tops and shoes to combine with them, and the results are shown in the photos. </p> <p>A couple of notes: Since I'm 5'2" and short-waisted, it's been challenging to find a top which appears cropped on me. All the tops used in this exercise, with the exception of one, have been tucked in, some more loosely than others, which I felt looked sufficiently casual. I left the lowest contrast top untucked, just to see if I could be okay with it that way. I'm positive it's not flattering, but it was certainly comfortable. </p> <p>Also, I apologize for the terrible lighting in these photos. The pants I'm wearing are a dark wash denim, not black. The striped t-shirt is white, black, and burgundy. The untucked top is dark blue, with a white, red, and bronze pattern on it. Lastly, the paisley shirt (which isn't technically a t-shirt) is a bright, vivid blue with lots of gold, red, and white. The gladiator sandals I wore with it are bronze.</p> <p>Thanks for looking!
