I like the long straight skirt with the sweater, and the scarf is great as an accent.</p> <p>Good experiment! </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/experiment#post-1140324 Thu, 16 Jan 2014 01:55:16 +0000 MuseumGal 1140324@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>So I think I'm over the fit and flare, knee length, slightly retro, very pretty, femme dresses that I've been wearing for the last 20 years (and wore yesterday).&nbsp; This leaves me not at all sure where to go next, but I figured I should try a different type of dress and looked in my closet to see if I had any!</p> <p>Pic 1 - So today I started with a new (from last summer) dark grey Eileen Fisher tank maxi dress, layered over black skating leggings for warmth, and short black boots.</p> <p>Pic 2 - It's winter, so for warmth, I added a heavy black cotton pullover (yes another one pilfered from the husband), a silk scarf in jewel tones, and some hippy dippy pearl dangly earrings.</p> <p>Pic 3 - For outerwear the teal leather jacket.</p> <p>I was actually much happier in this getup than I expected to be.&nbsp; The pullover is too big, so it was not as flattering as it could have been, but I do think the whole effect was more flattering that it photographed.&nbsp; The ensemble moved very well - the skirt and the scarf fluttered and were quite femme, and the boots and pullover were solid and butch.&nbsp; I was extremely comfortable, both physically and psychologically.&nbsp; Huh!</p> <p>Thanks for looking - comments and suggestions welcome. </p>
