I have costco capris and yoga pants and they have lasted for years. I have tapered a few of them (Capris) as I like them knee length.
I also have one pair from ON and they are my favourites. They are these ones here:http://oldnavy.gapcanada.ca/br.....=524126053
They have been in the washer over 100 times and are still holding up very well.

Nebraskim - yes the Champion legging are a bit sheer, or maybe their just too tight on me now. LOL! You can do the bend down-and touch-your-toes test. If you can see your undies in the mirror, than they are too sheet. I primarily wear them to class or running.

I guess what I'm looking for is more of a poly nylon stretch. They don't make them like that anymore. So keep searching.

By Target's leggings, do you mean the actual athletic gear that they carry by Champion/C9? I love their stuff and I use it daily (even wore an old pair while doing a 1/2 marathon earlier in May. Target also has "leggings," which are more like cotton/spandex footless tights. I agree those are thinner and not really appropriate for exercise. They usually are sold in the section of Target where they sell socks and hosiery whereas the C9 stuff is in the exercise gear area. I like the compression gear, not the floppy capri/yoga stuff. I have had luck with Underarmour gear, but it's super spendy. Some of my Target running gear is up to 8 years old and hanging in there.

I have yoga pants (not capris) from Athleta, but they make capris, too (see pic of the Odyssey capri below). My pants are 3 years old and look brand new. They have a 'return for any reason for a year' policy (that I haven't used), and the reviews on their website help you with sizing and such. Also: I disagree with not dressing nicely for the gym. I used to be that way, but (thanks to YLF) I have since decided that I'd like to look nice no matter what the activity (and I'd rather have one nice pair of yoga pants than 3 that I don't like much). I've had hit-and-miss luck with Target and Old Navy in terms of quality through washes.

The Zobha straight leg capris are awesome. They hit mid calf. I also like the Zella crops, but they hit just below the knee and function more like a short.

Depends on your price point. I did not want to spend a bunch on workout wear as I primarily walk while pushing a stroller. So I bought mine from Old Navy. I was pleased with the quality and the fit, especially for the price point.

I don't shop Lulumon as I dislike many of the things their CEO has said.

Athleta has really nice pieces, but they are usually 2-3 times more expensive than Old Navy. Worth it for runners who truly need performance wear, I think, less so for walkers.

I've been liking my yoga pants (full-length, flared hem) from Costco. They were around $20. They seem pretty thick and have held up well. They have capri length right now and I've been hoping to get back there to buy them to try them out.

When I held them up, they didn't seem to taper in at the knee for a tight fit, which I prefer. That's why I didn't buy them when I first saw them. But after looking around, I'm not seeing that good fabric at that good price elsewhere. If I get the Costco capris, I might try to alter them myself if they need to be taken in at the knee.

I found a pair last year at Athleta that I really like. They are grey, which I think is a nice change of pace.

I also love my Lululemon running capris, but they're a little longer. Too bad I put a hole in the knee of one pair when I tripped and fell a couple of weeks ago. I'll keep wearing them anyway!

I realize that I've been wearing the same leggings for the past few years and haven't updated my workout wardrobe in so long. To me, it doesn't make sense to dress up in a gym, but a good legging and wicking t-shirts (for outside running) is a must. Target brand leggings are priced reasonably but they are a bit thin and you can see your undies.

Do you all have any recommendations? I tend to wear knee length tight leggings.
