It's not see-through like some of those are, but I think it's intended for layering. I like to wear a thin cami underneath and leave it poking out the bottom. </p> <p>The magic of these tees is that they can be so soft and stretchy, and yet somehow maintain their shape and don't disintegrate when you wash them. The black is a really intense black that has not faded at all, either -- I compared my nine-year-old v neck to the new crew neck, and they're the same. </p> <p>Angie, here's a question for you: I checked the labels, and both of them are 94% viscose/6% elastane. Is this a blend that is generally sturdy? I got one nine years ago, when I was pregnant for the first time, and it has been hands-down the most useful and comfortable top I have ever owned. It's just a plain black v-neck, but it's stretchy, and I wore it for the whole pregnancy. Despite stretching to accomodate my expanding belly right up until the end, it still fits perfectly now. It has been washed countless times and looks nearly new. I have been keeping an eye out ever since for another one. I'm writing this post because yesterday I happened upon a whole rack of them -- yay!! They are expensive, so I only bought one -- a plain black crew neck -- but I've gotta say, this is a prime example of how shelling out for a high quality item can mean paying less in the long run. Nine years! </p> <p>If you ever come across this brand of tee shirts, consider getting one. They are worth every penny. </p>
