It's a cuff but there is an earring tucked in there kinda under/beside it that is an actual piercing and it's no joke, cartilage piercings can be brutal right there. It took probably a year to heal and even now, certain earrings make it really tender. Tiny studs often look fine on others, especially petites, but would "disappear" on me. It is a matter of proportions. When trying small earrings, I have always found that they make my nose and ears look even bigger than they are. But most are in silver or silver-looking materials.
