My closet is heavily weighted to neutrals of black, grey, and shades of white/cream and tan and even some browns.which works for me blonde eps. in darker hues of chocolate or mainly in prints with whites. Same as Lisa, I cannot do primary colors (few of blue denim-either)-these are just too harsh on me and feel inhibited- so avoinding like plague but may have some reminescents in my summer prints and I pair them exclusively to whites. Then, I wear dusted, muted, softer colors very well in colder seasons- they suit my no contrast face and greyish eyes and ashy blonde roots.

I have a rainbow plus neutrals, but mostly warm versions of colors. Anything bluish is out. I have reds in red -orange and coral, not bluish reds or pinks. A little burgundy has crept in for cold weather. My blues are mostly a neutral navy, worn as a sping/ summer neutral with whites as the light neutral. My greens are like Angie's, limeish or sour, olive for fall., yellows I am still looking for my best yellow and have a little mustard for fall. My main fall neutrals are browns that are almost metallics. I would add more if I find it.
I have very little pink. What I have vers toward salmon or peach.it is mostly for sping.

I have some black but have not added more. Most gets worn in August or as a winter neutral. I have black espedrilles and booties/ tall boots and a pair of black snow pants for very cold days. I have very little purple and seldom wear it. It is for late winter or Halloween. I have considered getting rid of all of it, but like a few pieces to keep from boredom.

Orange is a favorite for cold weather. A fall color. I have a sweater dress in it that is useful in winter. And orange accessories. It is represented as rust for fall with full length pants, a long cardigan over a rust dress. I would welcome more rust, maybe a sweater. Some color in cold weather.

As I have said blue is mostly navy or dark denim and used as a neutral in summer and spring, sometimes in winter. It is part of a travel capsule for summer and the color of my puffer coat for winter. I wear it in colder weather with other neutrals, light and dark. I want to add lime green bottoms. More green in general.

So much fun reading this!
I have so many patterns that every color is represented somewhere, but usually in a more muted way. I favor grey, blues and soft whites for neutrals and I’m always on the lookout for olive, deep emerald green, bright warm blue, or bright orangey reds, although I don’t wear brights that often. There are no yellows or purples in my closet except for the tiniest amounts in subtle patterns. I do love mustard or orange or cognac in an accessory for a pop of warm color against all my greys and blues.

When I was young I wore quite a bit of color and little black and no gray. Now I wear mostly neutrals ranging from black to charcoal and the other grays to pearl and the various whites from cream to oatmeal to stone to taupe and actual white. In short, most of my neutrals bookend my hair. I do have a few other neutrals and wear some color, but fully colorful outfits make me nervous unless I’m in the right mood. That being said, I’m a sucker for coral anything, and I’m always on the lookout for big markdowns on yellow and orange items because they are colors I can wear and others avoid them. That being said, they are rarely sold!

I love pattern and colours, so my wardrobe is pretty rainbow-like. However, when I look closely at my closet, I realise that there is almost no green or yellow represented. So I guess I 'm a ROBIV.

I wear everything but yellow, though there aren’t too too many earth tones in my wardrobe. They are more accent colors except for olive, which I do wear. I think they would look good but just don’t make me happy. Pastels can be okay but aren’t something I seek out much.

Otherwise I will wear anything but favor true red, blues and teals. I’d say I favor primary colors and jewel tones.

My neutrals are navy, black and olive. I used to like gray just fine but stopped likening it in me. It may be due to me starting to favor red highlights in my hair. The shift with my attitude to gray happened around the same time.

Earth tones with some black and denim blue. I have worn these colours my whole life. I have started to add a small amount of blue (the shade of light denim blue) to my wardrobe because I like how it looks with olive green and orange. I have a pair of blue sneakers, and I may purchase a blue bag in the window of a store downtown.

Oh yeah, I have ALL the colors. By numbers, the largest category is blue, and that is mostly navy, but I do have at least one royal blue top and a couple teal-ish things. I own lots of orange, purple, deep/hot pink, gray, red, brown . . .

It's easier to say what colors I do not wear: pale (butter) yellow and oatmeal beige. They're just too close to my skin tone, I think.

I would love to own some more deep greens. Every green item I like seems to be olive or a bright golf course green. I have enough olive and that bright green seems too preppy to me. Or maybe it's the styles that adopt that color.

Team Warm Muted Rainbow over here! I have a very solid base of black/charcoal alongside all the colour, plus almost-whites for contrast, which I do need and enjoy. I like my colours a little murky but I prefer them anchored with some higher-contrast elements.

Blues and greens are the easiest for me to add (eye color and personal favorites) and I have a broad range from very light to very dark; I like the versions with some grey or brown mixed in (opposite of Angie!). My reds and oranges tend to be in the brick/cinnamon/rust family. My purples are warm plummy shades, bordering on burgundy. My preferred browns are often very close to my favourite purples -- dark with some red in them. Yellows tend to be dark and warm, veering towards tan/khaki. I will occasionally throw in a pop of bright red; I feel it goes with pretty much anything. :)

For the fall, I'd really like to experiment with chartreuse; I love the punk vibe it can give when paired with black. The yellow/black/white/red combo below is really speaking to me.

I'm comfortable with most colors, though I don't wear purple nor pale pink. I like my colors stronger and more saturated. I like emerald turquoise much more than teal. I can never find as much say, jade green or emerald as I like.

I don't worry about having too much variety because I'm not aiming for a minimal or capsule wardrobe or cost per wear or anything like that.

I'd say my favorite color is black-and-white. From small gingham to stripes black on white and white on black, to bigger plaids to exploded florals.

I recently passed along all of my taupe, mushroom. I like it but it looks like death on me.

Brown and green were always my best neutrals, and all my long lasting outerwear is in deep olive and taupe. Now I am taking inky blue for a more formal capsule of dress and blazer.
Pretty much an autumn, so deep, warm, and somewhat muted works well. Medium and deep tones of pink, coral, and orange are strong presences. A muted medium yellow is creeping in for summer.
White or cream shirts are workhorses in summer.
I am surprised not to have red or purple represented. Blue is denim only, and dark.
Took dogs to agility yesterday and the lovely little older lady running it is a serious purple fan, and reminds me so strongly of that poem about old ladies who will wear purple, red gloves, and eat all the butter. Happy sigh.

Fun thread Runcarla! You have such an analytical yet fun approach to topics! Are you planning to replace your orange?
I like to have all colors represented (& lots of prints) although I seldom do. Orange & yellow don’t look that great on me if not just the right hue. I love neutral colors just as much, but don’t have many.
So I’m open to anything, which doesn’t help w/ a reasoned wardrobe plan, ha. Not buying much right now so will be mostly wearing black & pink, the current predominant colors. Trying to only purchase neutrals for a while when I do buy.

My palette is pretty much the same as Brooklyn's- deep warm mostly muted versions of colors plus a lot of black and brown. The main difference is that I have been adding a lot of navy this year, which I've been preferring to teal lately.

Black and white as neutrals ( black color was minimized but came back for work clothes ).
A bit of yellow as ascent color, light grey as relaxed neutral at home color - if there is such category .No brown, orange, true red, beige.

I don’t have a full rainbow. My closet is heavily weighted to neutrals of black, grey, and shades of white/cream — almost no brown or tan unless it’s a dark chocolate brown, or in a print, and some cognac accessories.

For non-neutrals, I skew very strongly to cool colors as they work best on my coloring. Lots of blue, teal/turquoise and green. A bit of burgundy, red, plum, and a tiny bit of purple.

There is a tiny bit of orange and some rust — colors I love but aren’t the most flattering on me, usually paired with more flattering colors.

No yellow to speak of, no sour colors or neons and very little pastel. I gravitate to saturated and cool colors. Jewel tones are good. Muted brights can be good too.

My wardrobe is black, navy, blue, teal, turquoise, purple and red. I do have a little maroon/similar. I want more red and purple.

I have no yellow, green, or orange in my wardrobe.

I think for me I do have seasons/periods of buying a range of colours - maybe due to what is available, or mood...then I will slowly move to a new range.

A few years ago I had lots of corals and oranges, but now I have barely anything in coral as it's not very available. What I find is that some pieces wear out but you then get left with one or two stragglers that can be a bit hard to incorporate as you tweak the palette.

Fun question!

I do have the rainbow -- but mostly I have blue! :) Blue in all its cooler permutations, from dark (ink) to light.

Reds -- I have cranberries, fire engine red, burgundies, and even some coral in patterns. Also fuchsia on occasion.

Yellows -- very little of these but I do have some mustard and some citron in patterns and in a bag. I love yellow but it does not love me.

Orange -- again, almost none, and such as I have, only in patterns. This is my least represented colour.

Purple -- orchid and magenta, mostly. As well as lilac/ lavender.

Green -- a few brighter greens in patterns, and some soft sage greens, especially for summer.

I'm similar to Dee, and like the mix and match ease of a defined color palette. My wardrobe is almost all blue, grey, and black, with a few blue-green things, a few pinkish-mauve-tan, and one fuschia wool coat for winter.
No red, orange, or yellow at all!

PS pretty sure I'm a cool/true summer in the seasonal coloring thing.

Lots of colors, but favoring the cooler ones, especially blues and pinks, but also some green and red. Not so much yellow of orange, but I am sure they are represented. Also black, white and brown.

I’m all over the color wheel! I *think* I want to be a color minimalist, but a tour thru my closet begs to differ!
