Funny timing -- I get to be a fit model for Everlane tomorrow! I think they emailed customers who live right in the neighborhood and then chose a range of sizes and heights from on our survey answers. It's for jeans, and I feel a little bad that my legs are too short to be very representative. But I'm curious to see how this works. I get $60 store credit for an hour of my morning.

I like how some of their pants have a bunch of photos of different size people wearing them. It helps keep my expectations realistic for what something looks like on short-legged 5'4" me, not their tall angular models. (I don't think this fit session is a photo thing -- I think they use their employees for that.)

Everlane uses tall, very thin fit models, so one has to keep that in mind when ordering.
For example, for the Cotton Vee the model is 5'9" and wearing a size small. It hits her mid-hip. So, if you're shorter, it's going to be longer.
I do like the v-necks tees. I'm pretty small (5'3" slim build but athletic shoulders), and sometimes the XS is too big (tanks can be overall blousy, for example). The T-shirt material seems flimsy but has held up quite well.
Their size guides for each garment are nice because you can lay down a tee that you have and love on the bed, take the measurements, and see how it compares to the Everlane dimensions (they give dimensions for the garments rather than for the person).
TL/DR: You may have to order a couple of sizes, and you may not wear the same size in all styles. Not what you wanted to hear, but there it is.

A few of their pants styles show people of different sizes and shapes wearing them, but usually it's hard to figure out my size or what will look good. Their pants tend to run big - I'm a 2 or sometimes 4 in most brands and I am a 0 or 2 in their pants.

Their shirts run true to size for me, usually XS as in other brands. I do want to try sizing up in my favorite u-neck tee to see how it looks though.

Some of their items are meant to be really slouchy and I find that hard to get right. I can either size down to make it fitted, or size up to get the slouchiness they intend but then I'm sort of lost inside it.

I think they charge for return shipping if it does not fit. That is the reason I stopped using them.

Thanks, I think I'll order a small to start and see how that fits.

I normally wear a M or size 10 in blouses and tees and Everlane L is what I prefer for a slightly loose fit.

I agree with LaPed that sizing is a bit all over. I try to search for reviews on blogs of the items I'm buying, to get a sense of fit on a non-model body, then pick a size based off of that. So far that's worked for me.

Their returns are pretty simple, and they cover shipping both ways if you exchange rather than return for money back.

I find their sizing to be all over the place. I go by the garment measurements they provide and contact CS if I need more detailed information. Their basic tees are generally pretty fitted; I go up to Small for a slightly relaxed fit. I have other items from them (usually things with "boxy" in the name) in an XXS. For their cashmere sweaters, I'm an XS. So far, Everlane pants haven't worked out for me, so I can't speak very well to bottoms sizing.

I am thinking of ordering some basic tees for spring/summer from Everlane. I have never shopped this site before. Does anyone have experience/advice regarding their sizing?
