I'm having the same concern. City dirt plus lots of walking means totally different shoes since we moved to Portland. I'll keep searching. Thanks!

@viva - I did not keep the glove flats or the white jacket. I think I would have scuffed them badly in one day especially since I live in the city.

I think that's the same Everlane bomber I've got. I bought mine last spring and when it came, I wasn't sure I liked it. Or rather, I wasn't sure I liked it on me as opposed to on the 5'10 model. I think I even posted a thread on here about it but didn't get many responses. Anyway, I equivocated on it so long I never returned it but never wore it either. Then this spring I decided I did in fact like it and it's been my go-to jacket for the past six weeks. It's the perfect spring weight and people compliment it all the time.

Thanks for the reviews! Question about the tee: It's great on you and I'd love to try it, but looks quite sheer on the website model. Is it work appropriate, would you say?

Congrats on your budgeting! I'm not very good at setting out a budget and looking for items that will fit it.

Love your picks except the white jacket. Something I notice is that it feels a little severe for you...not necessarily what I remember from your style in other posts. It may also be that the pockets are large and the fabric appears a little stiff.

I especially love the T! That is a find!!! An item like that is so hard to find.

@ClaraT - I'm 5'2" so the bomber worked somehow. The good thing about Everlane is their reviews which I read thoroughly so you get to see a wide range of body types and heights buying their clothing.

Thanks for the reviews. The boxy tee doesn't look boxy at all on you--perfect fit. I only have Everlane tees, but they are great basics at a great price and ethically sourced. My main thing with EL is that so often it says,"The model is 5'9" and wearing an XS" So the proportions are generally much different on 5'3" me! (Though it is nice that they state it so that you have some idea...)

I'm going to keep that bomber in mind. It looks very cool and elegant on you and also very versatile.

Love the modern shape of both flats --- this design looks more modern, but every bit as classic as ballet flats.

Glad to see the tees work --- it's hard to find simple, elegant knitwear!

And I hear you about the budget --- I've decided that limits can help focus my choices, and that can lead to a better wardrobe, which is a good thing!

I love Everlane. I have about 8 or 9 items from them...so far. Customer service is very good.

I'd skip the white jacket - you could make it work with alterations etc but why put that much effort and time (and money) into it - unless you enjoy the process of refining a garment.

I also bought the day glove flat, in that same pink color. I love them, and I'm quite picky with flats. I've only worn them about three days total now, all office days without a lot of walking, but they are getting comfier every time and wearing well - the leather doesn't seem exceptionally delicate to me.

So the Everlane flats do have some arch support and are quite comfortable, but then again I'm not sure how they would feel if you were out walking in them all day.

@RunCarla - I agree about sizing down since the jacket is quite boxy. See below. Thank you about my hair although it's going to be a frizzy mess due all the rain we've been having and very high humidity.

@Shevia - agreed on a darker color shoe, possibly the black or the taupe grey that is currently sold out.

@Greycat6 - I had just come home from work when I tried the jacket on, that's why I had the skirt on. I would most likely wear pants with the jacket.

@Cocolion - So I rolled up the cuffs, cinched the waist, and I'm still not feeling it. I do love color and the sportiness of the jacket and don't think I have the time for alterations. Too much of a hassle.

@Suz - Thank you.

Love the bomber and the tee on you!! The bomber will be a great addition.

I might be inclined to try the smaller sized white jacket if you can do so easily. The pink flats are pretty but for me would not offer enough support. I'm very intrigued by the first flats, though -- those look like something even I might be able to wear if only I could keep them on my foot!

I appreciate your reviews as I’m considering trying Everlane, especially the white jacket. Have you tried the white jacket with pants? Would you wear it with pants of skirts? I agree that it looks long on you but the skirt could be throwing me off. The tee and bomber are winners!

Well, I like all the items - and particularly the white jacket (though I agree you need to size down.) I think it is worth trying a smaller size. The shoes look like an indoor/ home shoe. Too delicate and not enough support for city walking.

@Style Fan - The day glove flats do have a slight cushion the in the arch so they are comfortable on my feet. I just don't know how well they'll do on a long day. Do try the Taryn Rose shoes. I'm hooked.

@Greyscale - I agree about the different sized models but they still don't have the petite gal on their list. I'll try the white jacket again. It does have belt straps inside the jacket so I can cinch the waist but the arms are a bit baggy. The shoes will definitely get scuffed especially since I live in the city and walk all over the place, so...maybe a new color might be in the plan.

I am a huge Everlane fangirl (and I'm glad they finally listened to feedback and added models of many different sizes!).

I do find that their sizes are all over the place. The jacket actually looks like the right size through the body - I think that style of jacket can hit at the low hip - but the long arms make it hard to see if it's ok, and it might be a touch wide in the shoulders. Can you fold the sleeves under to see what it looks like? I have really short arms and things often look overwhelming on me until I shorten them. I really like the white jacket on you so it might be worth trying the XS to compare.

I like the pale pink flats but it does seem like they might get scuffed easily. I tried on the Day Glove flats and they fit me much better than many of their shoes, which tend to run very narrow.

I appreciate your reviews and agree that the bomber jacket and linen tee are keepers. The white jacket looks too long on you for it's boxy shape. Does it come in petite? I worry that the soft leather shoes may not have enough support for your feet for long periods of wear. My feet cannot go more than a few hours in such shoes without pain after awhile, especially after taking them off, but I have high arches that need some support. I find that my Taryn Rose flats are fabulously comfortable even after 8-12 hours on my feet. The leather is soft but there is some good structure too.

Hi all. I've recently have been on a tight budget for the past 5 months allotting myself a $100 to spend per month on shoes and clothing. After sorting though my old Spring/Summer clothing, I realized that none of those items pleased me anymore due to fit or style and the sad thing is that some of those items still had tags hanging. I was really ashamed of myself and vowed to start with budgeting in the new year.

January, February, and March were fairly easy since I really don't spend that much so I had about $400 to spend by the time April came around. I did purchase a few pairs of much-needed flats (#1-Taryn Rose Devon) since I live off of them these days (my feet have become very fussy that past year). They are so comfortable and cushiony even for my wide feet and I highly recommend these as they are leather.

I'm also trying my hand on minimalist/minimal wear relying on my go-to black and lots of neutrals of white's, greys, and a few colors.( My semi retro look is currently on hold but I can always go back to that).

Meanwhile, I've recently discovered EVERLANE, and they've been getting great reviews in the way they run their business: "Our way: Exceptional quality.Ethical factories. Radical Transparency." They were originally an online store but have recently opened stores in NYC and San Francisco. I tried to stop by the at the NYC store but the lines were out the door, so I ordered online.

#2/3 - Bomber jacket. I've been eyeing this all winter long. I finally bought it and love the roomy comfort for a size small. It's pretty streamlined so not a baggy/saggy jacket. I really like and will definitely come in handy in London/Scotland trip. Definitely keeping.

#4/5 - I really want to like this jacket but at a size small, it looks nothing at all like the ad, maybe because she's tall and I'm petite and the jacket just overwhelms me. Is the length okay on me? I'm tempted to get the XS just to try. What do you think? BTW, Everlane does NOT carry petite sizes.

#6/7 - Boxed linen tee. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Pure comfort and a sofeter linen and the color is to die for. I may have to go back and buy the scoop neck style. Keeping.

#8/9/10 - The Day Glove flats. Instagram was raving about these flats and they definitely feel like gloves putting them on. The soft leather feels good on my toes and feet although I haven't really walked around in them. I wasn't sure about the dusty rose color thinking it would be more natural, but it's a very light pink and I may have to get a darker color. (disregard my bruised legs due to recent bike rides).

They have a large leather shoe collection with some great leather block heels, loafers and mules. They are a bit on the expensive side so am looking at alternate but similar shoes.

Hope you like the reviews. I don't do this often but wanted to share my experience.
