Yes, and am happy I did! Camo skinnies. I did size down, but hadn't planned to re-order at all. The original pair fit fine but were too short. I tried to find a different pair but never liked the pattern (dark camo). A couple of weeks later, I re-ordered and decided I'd just always wear them with boots. I love them and wear them all the time!

Yup. Me too. Sometimes you realize something will work better for you than you thought and it just takes some time to decide that. It makes it even better if it is less expensive the second time. Sometimes it just makes it less risky and I'm willing to take the chance I won't wear it as much. Lower CPW after all.

I've thought about reordering, but I've never done it. I think back to why I returned it in the first place. Usually it is a fit issue--the piece was too big. Since I always order the smallest size, I know that if I reorder, the fit issue will most likely still be there (unless I get lucky with the inherent variations in mass-produced clothing). I've never returned something simply because I had nothing to go with it. So in your case, since you're able to reorder the one item in a different size, and able to reorder the other item since you now have something to go with it, I think it's OK. If you were reordering the exact same thing (same size, same color) but had returned the original due to a fit issue, then I would say you need to trust your original instincts.

Yep. I just did it recently with an item that went on sale. Stores like my old favorite, Strawbridge & Clothier (Philadelphia), used to just give you the sale price if you brought in the receipt.

The TR jeans are definitely worth a try in the smaller size. My TR Brianna's are one of my favorites. And those Gap python jeans are fabulous - I just might have to pop in to my local Gap and check those out.

Hmmm. Ordering a different size is a different animal. Ive watched those gap pants as well. The reality for me is i am just not going to pay more than a given amount for something. Esp an item with a limited life span, and the reviews indicated the fabric was thin. So i may not think something is worth full price but might decide for a lesser amount it will be fun to wear.

Funny, I just did this today for budget reasons. I'd bought a knit blazer from JC Penney last week and then found that it was not only on clearance there was a coupon for a further discount, so I ordered it online. I'm not returning the one in hand until I get the new one, just in case it's different.

I don't think I've ever reordered the exact same thing in the same size, although I have almost repurchased things i had donated to my local thrift store. :/

Oh, good - I don't feel so silly now. :) Good thing the BF doesn't see every package. His eyes would be rolling for sure!!! TR's in a size down will be on the way, since the H&M unlined (yuck) grey ones are going back, along with the foil top that was stiff as the tin man.

Yep, even on something non returnable. My red moto. But I am so much happier in the smaller size!

I loved the TR styling and am firmly in favor of trying another size!

Yes, I re-ordered this sweater which I initially returned. It was a bit less expensive second time around. I hadn't found the HEWI dark green cardigan so I settled for this. It's OK not great (although nice and warm which I haven't needed, it's 70 today!!!) but at under $100 it's not a huge deal.

Hangs head in shame and puts hand up in the air. Since I do almost all my shopping online, I like to return what does not work asap. I have had regrets that I was too hasty and on several occasions reordered and been happy that I did. I have also occasionally reordered a HEWI because it looks like exactly what I want and I can't believe it didn't work out, so I decide to try it again to be absolutely sure (and sure enough it goes back.) I am hoping this makes you feel a lot better!! I try not to let this happen but I don't regret the times I have done this!!

I can understand how it might happen.
Especially if you like something a lot but it seems like it'll be an orphan, then presto its roomate shows up. So I wish I could buy total outfits at times, rather than take the chance I'll be able to "collect" things over time. Special-occasion wear is like this--do I buy the velvet jacket because it's divine and on sale, in hopes I'll find the tuxedo pants to go with it? or something like that.

Or sometimes it begins to dawn on me, hey, that's the way that is supposed to look--oops! Something was trending and my eye didn't adapt to it until later in the year.

I feel kind of stupid, but after a few more failed leather pant attempts (today's H&Ms are bad), I may try the TR Moto jeans again in a smaller size. http://www.zappos.com/true-rel.....J:20140116
And while I'm at it, I'm tempted to get the Gap python cords I once returned now that I have the white Zara jacket to offset them. Sigh. http://www.gap.com/browse/prod.....=918109092
Not sure if I need to trust my instincts more or if budget freaks me out more than I care to admit (these are both now on deeper sale than the sale prices I bought at).
