I love the drape of cupro but find it hard to iron without it looking crumpled, then shiny and then I get little holes in it.... rrrr...

You can find a lot of cupro at COS. I don't own anything made of cupro, but from trying clothing made out of it in the store it does seem to wrinkle easily, like Laura said.

Cupro's just a way of making rayon. In my experience of buying fabric as a sewist, European sources tend to call it cupro whereas North Americans just call it rayon. That's the interesting thing about rayon, tencel, bamboo knit, those sheets made from birch - they're all man-made, but the base fiber is a cellulose so they do tend to be more breathable than polyester, nylon, etc.

The cupro fabrics and clothing I've run across wrinkle like crazy, but do have a nice feel to them. A rayon/linen blend is really nice, as is a rayon/poly as long as the poly content isn't too high.

I'd heard of it but didn't know what it was. It sounds like it will go on my happy list too. I hate synthetics because they're usually not breathable, but when the synthetic is made from natural materials (like rayon, which is I think made from wood pulp), it's A-OK in my book.

Mo, my Tencel items wrinkle exactly the same way. I just think of it as silky linen

My blue Wesc dress is Cupro. I like the feel, kind of like a silk . . . shantung maybe? I'm fabric stupid, so that might be wrong lol. It does wrinkle a little from sitting. See below

Yes, I've seen it as a lining also, and had to Google it in the fitting room. I was very happy to learn it was a pseudo-natural (and at least breathable) fiber! It's now on my happy list!

I was checking out this Zara jacket which says it is made from CUPRO. I had never heard of it so of coarse I googled it.

CUPRO \¦k(y)üˈprō\

n. 1 a: A regenerated cellulose fiber derived from cotton linter (the ultrafine, silky fibers that stick to the seeds of the cotton plant after it’s been ginned) that has been dissolved in a solution of ammonia and copper oxide. b: It is similar to rayon, but breathes and regulates body temperature like cotton. c: Often used as a silk substitute, cupro is noted for its ability to create beautifully draped clothing, except it can be machine-washed and -dried. d: A European relative of Tencel, cupro is a hypoallergenic, antistatic fabric that is resistant to stretching out of shape at higher temperatures.

Have you seen any items made from it?
