The front hooks have a piece of fabric behind them so they do not touch your body. It would be very uncomfortable to sleep in a bra that had hooks in the back, so that's why this bra is great to sleep in. I'm sure there are other options out there (like Carissa's). I had a hard time finding any front-close bras. But I prefer to wear two bras to exercise. So I rotate my "older" bras to wear under the Shock Absorber Bras. If you do try this, make sure the athletic bra is smaller than your regular size. I would never feel comfortable sleeping in a bra either. </p> <p>Maya, one thing I've learned about sports bras: it's very very important to only wear them while exercising, and remove them immediately once the activity is done. First of all there's the sweat issue - bacteria rapidly multiplies on sweaty exercise gear. But also the compression nature of a sports bra is not good for hours at a time. Note that they come in support levels. For high-impact sports I use the highest support level, and it works great. I personally didn't try them, but it sounds like a nice idea. </p> <p>I sleep sans bra, and I confess that for lounging I use my old stretched-out soft-cup bras I think a soft-cup bra can be nice, and if you don't own any, you can probably find them on sale in figleaves. For lounging I would buy a larger band size than what you buy for your everyday bras, since it doesn't have to be very supportive.</p> <p>Oh, I just remembered: some girls in the thirty-twod community recommended using a really snug-fitting tank or sleeveless top as a lounging bra (under your lounging top, of course). According to the sizing info, I'm supposed to be a small and a large at the same time (because my band size is small but my cup size is large). I have absolutely no idea what to get. Any input on this? What do you ladies where around the house and to sleep? I don't actually mind the idea of sleeping sans bra, which is what I do now. I don't find it uncomfortable at all. But when I'm just going about my business at home, I definitely need SOMETHING other than what I'm wearing now.
